Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify internal & external customer needs and take concrete steps to address these needs at supplier end.
  2. Lead & Monitor Supplier Process audits, Improvements & VPPAP of Forging commodity processes.
  3. Lead the Improvement of Quality Performance of assigned Suppliers & Ensure Zero defect Supplies by suggesting process improvements.
  4. Monitor Supplier Performance against DOL, GR, LR and field Quality Indicators & ensure continuous improvement in Supplier Quality.
  5. Plan & Conduct periodic supplier audits & conduct Product, Process and systems audit to ensure improvement in Quality Indicators
  6. Own the improvement in forging commodity parts with the use of statistical tools and drive continual PPM Reduction.
  7. Analyze the issues reported by internal customer as well as field issues and initiate concrete actions at supplier end.
  8. Upgrade Supplier Capabilities through Formal Training.
  9. Identify need for corrective action by suppliers for any deviations from established standards.
  10. Provide technical support to vendors to sustain and continuously improve the quality of components supplied as well as establish process stability / capability.
  11. Enable suppliers to achieve Quality Management Systems to ISO/TS accreditation
Educational Qualifications - BE (Mechanical/Automobile/Production)Experience - 3-4 Years in Supplier Quality ImprovementKnowledge & Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge Forging & Machining Processes, Gears, Shafts, heat treatment.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools & techniques / Statistical approach
  • Sound knowledge of metallurgy & effect of minor trace elements over forging product quality.
  • Hands on experience in PPAP and Structured Problem solving techniques
