Position - Electrical Substation Engineer ( Design Engineer )Experience - Minimum 8 YearsSalary - 25LPALocation - DelhiRoles & Responsibilities :Hands on experience in Plant Substation layout design, cable sizing and protection designing up to andincluding 132KV minimum.v Responsible to manage his own technical work and assist other subordinates plus CAD designer basedin same office (New Delhi) or in UK.v Review clients all requirements to make an offer and do detail design after award of contract.v Review local DNOs (Distribution Network Operators) document to understand the standardrequirement and criteria of acceptance of substation, cable and protection design.v Hands on Experience of AutoCAD is must, 3D knowledge will be an advantage.v Deliver substation primary plant design projects to targeted levels of profitability, quality andtimeliness. This may involve the direction of engineers within the team.v Seek out innovative solutions to technical problems.v Advice and design work for primary plant, including transformers, GIS and AIS switchgear cables and allsubstation equipment.v Ensure an active safety culture is created and maintain a safe working environment at all times.Operate within the quality assurance manual of BPI or an established project managementmethodology which ensures the maintenance of equivalent standards.v Attend design reviews to ensure that discipline and excellence is maintained.v Maintain close working relationship with the Finance Management team. Capture any additionalbusiness development opportunities which may arise during project delivery.v Preparation, monitoring and delivery of the cost budget for projectsv Have sound analytical & numerical skills including short circuit forces calculation, cable ratingcalculations, short circuit current calculations and lightning protection calculationsv Have a solid understanding of the interface requirements of the civil/structural and OHL aspects of HVsubstationsv Producing designs for substation Protection and Control systems from 11kV up to 132kV (Single LineDiagrams, Circuit Diagrams, General Arrangements, Termination drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Block CableDiagrams/Schedules, cable specification/sizing calculations, etc.)v Maintain close working relationship with the Project Management teamv Working alongside other designers, construction professionals and engineering teamsv Liaising with the Power Systems, Primary and Civil design departments to ensure that all objectives aremet and that the best possible design is submittedv Liaising with external stakeholders, including the end client, other design houses and consultancies aswell as other internal departmentsv Have a can do attitude, with previous experience in mentoring and coaching junior colleaguesv Should be responsible for project delivery 80% of times independently.v Clearance diagrams, access drawingsv Earthing experience required but not essential.v Writing technical proposals.v Good understanding of primary calculations.Knowledge, Skills and Experience :Essential DesirableDegree or equivalent in anumerate discipline.Ideally an engineering relevant degree, tomasters level or higher, with chartered status.Good understanding of the powerindustry, including technicalstandards relating to substationplant and protection schemes upto and including 132kV.Thorough working knowledge of the powersectors in target areas (e.g. UK, Middle East,South Asia, Africa). Expert understanding oftechnical standards relating to substationprotection schemes up to and including 400kV.Good understanding ofengineering contracts.Experience of delivering projects underappropriate contracts.Experience as a consultant andadviser.Experience as an engineer in the power sector,with an international dimension.Experience as a Substation DesignEngineer and in projectmanagement methodologies.Track record of delivering high value/complexprojects successfully.High level communication andinfluencing skills.Commands confidence as an expert in his/herfield.Knowledge of written and verbalcommunication in English is mustPlease Feel Free to Apply
