Position overview:You would be joining the team responsible for building, enhancing and maintain the Custom Index Portal. Custom Index Portal is a key application in the Index business, where all the requests for Custom Indexes are entered and tracked for MSCI. Due to the significance of Custom Index business there is a huge pipeline of features to be added to this recent platform and our team has the responsibility of supporting this critical business function with new features and a stable system. The candidate will be primarily in charge of developing extensions to the Custom Index Portal of MSCI using modern technologies (Java 8, Spring, REST, Ext JS, Oracle ). He or she will have to proactively learn our systems and then lead enhancements and propose new ideas, while respecting the consistency and standards of the current team. If selected, you will work as part of a delivery focused and talented software development team responsible for designing, developing and supporting the business centric front- end and back- end Index platforms. Responsibilities:You will help us implement:Modules of the Custom Index Portal frameworkComplex software design patterns using Java technologiesSoftware testing frameworks (unit/ non regression/ user acceptance)Normalized relational databases designsDesired experience and qualifications:Over 3+ years of relevant professional experience developing Web applications with Java technologies. Web development experience on any of the Front- end technologies and ready to work on Ext JS. Knowledge of Oracle PL/ SQLHands- on experience with Spring/ Spring MVC, Apache Maven, Linux. Existing experience on Power BI, BIRT or Angular will be an added advantageHighly motivated, dynamic, hardworking and eager to succeedThe ability to communicate issues clearly and concisely to peers, senior management and clients. Experience on this front is a plus.
