Should have an understanding of the statistical principles behind the current best practices2. To have a thorough knowledge of the existing bioinformatics tools for identifying genetic variation and be aware of the latest tools available that can be incorporated in the existing pipeline for achieving relevant information for interpretation3. Ability to work in a fast paced environment independently and experienced in handling large data generated by high-throughput molecular assays4. Impart basic training to other team members regarding basics of the tools and pipeline developmentHead Bioinformatician Requirements and Qualifications:Candidate should have atleast 2-3years of an experience in Cancer Genomics field and should have masters inBioinformatics. PhD inbioinformaticswould be preferred. Lifer Science, Genetics genomics (Cancer Genomics preferred)1. Knowledge of relevant concepts in cancer biology and molecular biology2. Four+ years of experience in managing, analysing, and interpreting large volume of sequence data3. Strong experience in the use of a high-level programming language such as R, Python or Perl4. Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and solve complex problems5. Exceptionally strong communication, data presentation and visualization skills.6. Greets challenge and change as opportunityJob Description for Bioinformatician:Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:1. Programming languages(c++,Java,Perl, Python and Ruby) and shell,bash scripting.2. Experience in working with NGS data using tools like GATK, Tophat, Cufflink etc.3. R/Bioconductor Package for statistical Assessment4. Statistical techniques like Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Tree , Factor Analysis.5. Expertise in algorithms and machine learning applied in computational genomics,6. Algorithms development background and strong understanding of practical implementation issues7. Deep understanding of probabilistic modeling, statistics anddatastructures8. Use existing and develop newdata-mining, machine learning and/or graph analysis techniques9. Use existing and develop new machine learning algorithms to solve a broad set of prediction anddataanalysis problems10. Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDb and SQL Server. Prefer PostgreSQL and MongoDB). Limited proficiency in hypertable and cassandra.11.To have a thourough knowledge of the existing bioinformatic tools for identifying genetic variation and be aware of the latest tools available that can be incorporated in the existing pipeline for achieving relevant information for interpretation12.
