Job DescriptionPosition PurposeThe purpose of this role is to drive the HSE culture across the manufacturing sites within the country to ensure a safe and accident-free work-environment. This role will be responsible for the development, implementation and communication of all relevant HSE policies, whilst meeting annual Health, Safety and Environmental objectives which will be assessed via the performance management system. Maintain close contact with stake holders to gain insight into their needs as well as general market requirements for performance of the function.Scope/Supervision and Interaction:This position provides leadership to EHS Heads at each manufacturing location. Fully supports the India manufacturing Head and Site Heads in implementing strategic corporate decisions. Interacts with other functions at all levels of the organization including plants, corporate officers and group. As an EHS Head, the accountability encompasses working in tandem with Site Heads and Site EHS Heads to raise the bar of Safety across the organization.Essential Functions:Drive and support the Safety First culture at all the manufacturing sites across the country and within the company .Develop the HSE Policies, Standards and Strategy for the Business that fully complies to local statutory and international safety regulations and standards such ISO and OSHAS.Identify and evaluate H&S risks and provide recommendations to the Senior Management to avoid, mitigate or reduce the potential impact of these risks to the business.Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and assist in the design, implementation and management of company safety initiatives.Conduct regular analysis of accident & near miss trends and set in place preventative actions as required.Strategically review H&S matters and develop solutions and interventions to improve Organizational Health & Safety performance.Influence others to proactively promote a work place sensitive to Health, Environment & safety practices.Lead the EHS related statutory & regulatory compliance and support the internal and external stakeholders.Design and implement Safety training for plants and sites and ensure safety drills are carried out periodically.Develops EHS management systems to achieve compliance with requirements, continuously improve performance, leverage EHS resources and meet requirements of facilities.Lead the Safety Audit for all the plant locationsCalculate the Safety matrix.Make Site-tours and monitor the safety condition of general operations and maintenance of all locations.Ensures all regulations are followed and the report to governmental authorities are furnished in accurate & timely mannerKey Competencies RequirementExcellent knowledge of management principles, industry practices, technology, and Safety processes. Knowledge of operational processes and good safety principles related to Food industry. Demonstrated ability to lead big team of people and obtain results through others. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving / resolution skills and a team focus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and employees.Qualifications/RequirementsEducation: Bachelor of Engineer (Chemical/ Mechanical/ Production) with HSE related recognized qualifications. Management degree/diploma is desirable.Experience: Around 20 years related experience in a medium to high-volume industrial manufacturing environment in continuous process plants.
