The Area: Morningstar Indexes Team leverages its expertise in equity research , manager research , asset allocation , and portfolio construction to create investor- focused solutions. It uses Morningstar`s intellectual property to create indexes that empower investors to achieve their goals at every stage of the investment process - market monitoring , benchmarking and asset allocation. The unit offers a broad suite of global equity , bond , commodity and asset allocation indexes. The Role: As the leader of Morningstar s fast- growing Mumbai Indexes team , you will lead a fast- growing cross- functional team of 40 analysts , technologists , product , client service and operational experts who drive the development and management of Morningstar indexes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing cross- functional teams who deliver financial solutions for global clients. You will have an excellent grasp in investment concepts , possess strong analytical skills , and partner effectively with senior management , other teams , and clients. This position is based in our Navi Mumbai office. Responsibilities: Establish a vibrant , high- performing , results- driven culture that attracts and retains great talent who are passionate about investor success Lead a cross- functional team of 40 analysts , technologists , operations , product managers and client service experts , elevating them to do their best work. Recruit and develop the capabilities of your team members , positioning them for success . Drive robust and scalable process and operational excellence in index development , management , analytics and operations Represent Morningstar Indexes to clients globally through sales and marketing activities Connect the Mumbai Indexes team to the global Index teams in Chicago , London and Singapore Requirements: Bachelor s degree in a quantitative , financial discipline , or engineering; a CFA , MBA or graduate degree in a quantitative or financial discipline is preferred 15 years of relevant professional experience in financial services Knowledge of institutional investing and portfolio management Proven track record of building and motivating high performance teams Versant in technology and software development Experience with operational excellence , business continuity management , LEAN and AGILE a plus Experience working in a global environment Ability to communicate effectively with global clients and internally
