We need your passion, innovative ideas, and creativity to help take us to new heights.Amazon Studios is hiring a Head of Production Indian Local Original Productions to support local original scripted series, original movies and unscripted production across India. This position will be based in Mumbai and be responsible for overseeing and managing local SEA Amazon production personnel supporting the Amazon Studios Local Originals team as well as to support the Local Originals team with monitoring budgets, schedules, and production plans for scripted series, unscripted series, movies and pilots to be produced for the Indian market in Hindi, Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam, Kaneda and other local languages. The position will work closely with local Amazon production executives and internal stakeholders, including Post-Production, Business Affairs, Legal, Tax and Creative Development. Additionally, the Head of Production for India will also be responsible for hiring and developing the best talent to join the team as they scale and support the increasing Indian slate and territorial expansion.Key job responsibilities Manage a team of production executives throughout India. Hire, train, supervise and set career growth plans for the team. Develop team goals, roadmap and strategy consistent with Local Originals leadership objectives. Support the Amazon Studios Local Originals team to produce scripted content in the most economical and efficient manner with the highest production value by maximizing local and regional production benefits and subsidies. Work with other stakeholders throughout the company to support creation of policies and procedures that are scalable for utilization across India. Assist local Indian stakeholders with local territorial production related problem-solving related to local custom and practice and government regulation. Provide local oversight of the scripted and unscripted series and movie projects in development and production throughout India and coordinate effectively between external partners and Local Originals leadership to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Collaborate with local executives in India along with producers, line producers, production managers to prepare assessment reports on budgets, production plans, and schedules. Includes feedback to Local Originals leadership on production risks and/or options that can impact staying on budget and schedule. Work with all internal teams, both locally and in the home office, including post operations, production finance, tax, legal and development. Travel throughout India and beyond when necessary to assist leadership with evaluation of work-flow, budgets and potential problems and provide feedback. Provide support to local production executives with respect to the analysis of budgets and cost reports. Act as a liaison from producers to the international Studio team when required., 15+ years of experience as a Film or Television Producer/Production Executive or the equivalent with a focus on local Indian content. Ability to juggle multiple large scale projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment while delivering outstanding results. Direct leadership experience, having managed teams in the corporate or production space. A strong understanding of Indian motion picture and scripted series industry custom and practice and an appreciation of the differences that exist in each territory. Extensive experience obtaining Asian production benefits, subsidies, tax credits and reclaiming VAT or similar taxes when applicable. Experience with local guilds and unions Multiple Indian language proficiency Experience working on international productions. Able to recognize an opportunity or need based on industry expertise. Exceptional and effective verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Exceptional project management skills. A strong working knowledge of basic co-production and financial structures. Ability and availability to travel when required.
