The structure of this statement should be (1) What does this job do (2) What does it effect or provide (3) Why does it do this Provides strategic direction and overseeing the process safety performance of the organisation at fertilisers & SSP units of Coromandel. Primary responsibilities includes 1. Developing, implementing and monitoring strategic plans for enhancing process safety performance. 2. To ensure implimentation of RCA recomendations at cross plants for the enhancing process safety performance 3. CAPEX jobs followup with corporate for enhancing process safety performance. 4. Monitoring & reviewing PSPI and providing strategic plan to counter the hindrances. 5. MOC & hazop studies reviewing before corporate approvals. 6. To ensure CCESP standards implementation and periodical revisions. 7. To implement critical technical studies as required for enhancing process safety performance 8. To ensure process competency e modules implementation all the time and periodical revisions as required . 9. To ensure process safety procedural implementation & revisions Briefly describe the position, its requirements and challenges, the environment in which the job exists Job Context & Content (Provide information on the Organisation /division/function) The companys manufacturing includes phosphatic fertilisers , phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid,SIngle super phosphate and pesticides ( formulation) where the large number of hazordous chemicals are being handled. Although the plants are designed and managed to ensure the process operate with minimum risk by ensuring process safety management system ( PSMS) implemented with the participation and implementation of the employees.To consistently and effectively drive PSMS,leadership role is essential . PSMS safety will be ensured by applying good design principles,engineering ,operating and maintainance practices. Complex Fertilizer Units: Vizag, Kakinada, Ennore, SSP Units: Ranipet, Hospet, Vadodara, Udaipur and Nimrani SND Units: Vizag & Kakinada CP Units Sarigam, Ankleshwar, Dahej, Ranipet and Jammu. The total manpower including contract workmen is around 9000 No. (Permanent: 4000 | Contract: 5000) The SHE team across the organisation consists of totally 43 members. The incumbent is positioned at Corporate and responsible for overall Environmental performance for SBUs of Fert, SND and SSP. Job Challenges (Provide information on the difficulty / complexity in the job , Nature and variety of most typical problems, Major Challenges, Critical aspects of the job, Help available Internal, External) The manufacturing units are handling and processing hazardous inorganic and organic chemicals in bulk quantities towards manufacturing fertilisers. All the manufacturing units a governed by the state and central legal requirements and prone for chemical relaese The major challenges in this job are 1. Most manufacturing units are surrounded by inhabitants. Every prone of chemical releases handling by manufacturing units 2. Building process safety competency in the employees. 3. Ensuring compliance to statuatory legal complainces towards business sustainability 4. CCESP maintainence being asset integrity role is critical in process safety.
