To support risks by working on submissions and looking into methods of risk redistribution as well as maintaining awareness of changing rating requirements and monitor financial ratings of reinsurers.
To produce reinsurance information for business planning and strategic purposes ensuring the company maintains successful relationship with local and international reinsurance companies brokers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Work closely with the underwriting and actuarial teams to formulate and execute the most appropriate reinsurance structure. This will include the purchase of both treaty and facultative reinsurance. Development and control of reinsurance processes and procedures. Formulate policies and procedures to cover tasks including underwriting procedures for placement of reinsurance, claims handling, technical accounting and management reporting. Development and succession plan for all members of the reinsurance team. Provide reinsurance input for the development of new products or changes to existing products. Regular meetings with reinsurers/brokers to build their understanding of the business thus enabling execution of reinsurance on the best terms possible for
Candidates should be Chartered Accountants / MBAs with an insurance qualification and with about 7 to 8 years experience in general insurance or reinsurance company.
