Job Description

LOS-PB: Job description for Onsite Support Services for IBM WEBSPHERE APPLICATION SERVER (WAS) LOS-PB application is being used as single platform by all the branches and RACPCs for processing of all P-segment loans (HL, AL, PL, EL & Two-wheeler Loans.

  1. In order to cater to a large number of users (average 10,000 users per day) and also to improve the overall performance, the application has been migrated onto a new hardware infrastructure which consists of following:
  • Hardware: IBM E880 servers
  • Middleware: IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) & IBM HTTP Servers
  1. The dedicated WAS support resource for our application will be looking after following activities pertaining to WAS for the smooth running of the LOS-PB application:
  • Install WebSphere Application server, Network deployment on IBM AIX systems.
  • Install critical Fix Packs & cumulative fixes for the WAS.
  • Configure and migration of WAS from version 7 to version 8.
  • Deploy EAR / Application patches on WAS servers.
  • Involve in Performance tuning of WAS on all the servers.
  • Daily health check and maintenance of JVM or logical servers
  • Involvement in outages like stopping and starting the IBM HTTP servers, Application servers and ensuring everything is running smoothly during deployment of application patches/fixes
  • Creation of servers JVM, clusters and applications
  • Configure IBM HTTP servers and configuration of ports of each JVM.
  • Create WAS services
  • Assist application and testing teams
  • Troubleshooting and closing VA-PT observations related to WAS in all Prod and Non-prod servers
