Job Description

We are looking for a results-oriented individual to support international trade requirements, including for imports and import related programs in India You will work with internal customers and external vendors to ensure complete and timely processes and delivery of compliance obligations. You will also be the primary point of contact for harmonized code classification, and for data requests by internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, and a creative, critical thinker with an intense curiosity and drive to learn. You must be an effective negotiator, leader, and communicator able to work independently and generate high quality work products in a collaborative, creative, ever changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.Principal Duties Ensure all trade and product compliance controls are enforced, monitored, and satisfied. Manage all applicable trade and product compliance agreements programs, and engage with GTPC team members to ensure global consistency and approach where appropriate. Serve as local informational and data support in the cases of related audit and compliance initiatives. Support the delivery of daily tasks related to providing import/export compliance guidance In India with all regulations in the conduct of trade activities, including conducting research, updating status reports, and coordinating team deliverables. Assists with technology, hardware, and software trade classification. Interface with cross functional groups to identify and rectify any information/process gaps during the export/import process in India. Generate and contribute to performance metrics for all related activity. Perform project management support tasks, and enable delivery of team assignments and objectives.Basic Qualification: Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution. 5+ years of relevant experience managing imports in a complex import / export environment. Experience generating department-level reports for management. Experience in process development and improvement. Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively. Be able to prioritize activities with changing timelines. Experience using data driven process improvement tools and metrics. Proven written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Fluency in English (Spoken and Written).Preferred Qualifications Customs Brokerage License a plus, but not required. Background in India Indirect taxes, and experience in local regulatory requirements of agencies such as MITI and BIS is a plus. Global logistics or supply chain experience. Specialized knowledge of regional import or export trade regulations. Experience with export classification of hardware or software containing encryption. Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements.,
