MSCI is seeking a talented java developer for our Analytics Application Development Group in Mumbai. MSCI is aggressively expanding its performance attribution offering in terms of analytics and reporting capabilities and system scalability and data coverage The candidate will join our performance attribution team, which is responsible for maintaining and building out performance attribution software in a multi-tier, distributed software environment that services world-class web based portfolio risk and performance attribution analytics platforms including BarraOne, Barra Portfolio Manager and Risk Manager. Specific Knowledge/ Skills Experience with server side multithreading programming and object oriented development in core java and other technologies. Good understanding of working with multi-tiered applications and distributed computing. Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a fast paced, multi tasking development environment. Experience on complete project lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, QA and maintenance. Experience with relational database systems or non relational database systems, preferably on a large scale. Good to have some experience on web technologies such as JavaScript, GWT, CSS, JQuery, Ext Js and Visualization tools like Spotfire. Experience in financial markets is desirable but not necessary. Good to have cloud computing experience.
