Job Description

We are seeking a strong senior developer to work on our position keeping engine. This is a core Java role with an emphasis on writing concurrent, distributed, low-latency code produce an instantaneous view of positions in the global equities trading business, globally. The application sits at the nexus of global equities architecture.

The candidate will be expected to assist with all facets of application development including project and support work, tooling, release management and testing. The development work is based around an agile process with frequent, small releases driven off a prioritized backlog of work.

There are numerous trading desks supported globally - the successful candidate will need to be comfortable understanding their businesses and how it relates to position keeping and handling such interactions.

Candidates are expected to propose creative solutions, participate in healthy debate regarding the design of the system and provide fresh perspectives to the existing team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed, high volume, high velocity multi-threaded real-time processing systems using core java technology
  • Provide support and tools to allow end users to identify the underlying data issues or performance outliers
  • Candidate us expected to assist with all facets of application developments, interact with various upstream systems and trading desks.

    • Requirements

  • Education : Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related field from a reputed university
  • Certifications If Any
  • Experience Range : 8-12 yrs
  • Mandatory skills
  • Strong Core Java Skills including but not limited to Multithreading, Collection, File IO, Distributed programming etc.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with complex SQL queries and data analysis
  • Desire to explore the underlying details and provide the root cause analysis on inquiries
  • Understand order lifecycle of trading systems and state management
  • Understand the microstructure of the market data
  • Good Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and integrity
  • Knowledge of Continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Teamcity.
  • Exposure to source code management tools - svn, git.
  • Good experience working with IDE like Eclipse, Intellij.
  • Desired skills
  • Experience in equities products, electronic trading
  • Experience in managing latency and memory within JVM
  • Building distributed systems
  • Experience of a global platform
  • Exposure to Agile development model.
  • Exposure to build automation tools like Maven, Gradle, ANT, sbt.
