Lead DevOps EngineerJob Locations IN-MumbaiRequisition ID 2021-57600 Category Research & Development Whats the role HERE is seeking a Principal System Engineer with architecture & programming experience for DevOps Engineering team. The Principal Systems Engineer is accountable for architecting, designing and responsible for deploying and supporting the end-to-end infrastructure architecture / solution architecture for one or more HERE Service, including providing T3 support (specialized support) for the managed services and participation in on-call rotation.Our Systems Engineers work on solving complex infrastructure problems, develop automation to fix issues with least possible human intervention (self-healing cloud centric infrastructure designs), and contribute to common HERE automation platforms. Everything from CDNs, Network Design, Computer Virtualization, Operating Systems, Storage, Security, Computer Architecture, Product Architecture etc. are pulled together to develop low maintenance, 0-downtime Solution Architecture, covering operability, monitoring and management.This Role works with Product Teams (R&D, Architects, Software Engineers, Product Managers) and Project Managers in a cross functional team environment. Focus on the infrastructure and operational elements of designing & deploying a service; examples include but not limited to: ensuring services are highly available, have robust infrastructure capacity in place and are fully resilient across multiple data centers and in Public/Private Cloud. Automate as much as possible to eliminate human errors. Work closely with key stakeholders, including Product Development Team, PMO, HERE IT, Technology Strategy Architecture teams and Service Operations teams, in ensuring the technologies adhere to 99.9% or higher uptime.Day to Day

• Collect the requirements from stakeholders. Architect, design, develop, operate/maintain highly available, robust, resilient & supportable solutions and ensure a streamlined/automated application deployment.
• Translate conceptual design to physical layout. Backup and recovery best practices to be used for prevention of data loss. Ensure high level of (service) security and architect/implement disaster recovery.
• Participate and occupationally drive technical deliverable with or without assistance from a designated Project Manager. Establish/reiterate the ways of working with larger teams/organization.
• Release Engineering: Take new releases from inception to deployment, functioning as both a technical and project lead. Provide assurance that Releases are fit for use (meets required specifications) and fit for purpose (delivers required performance)
• Performance, Monitoring and Availability: Work with R&D Team to build a set of Performance benchmarks, and test each new release of Data Core applications against these benchmarks. Develop and utilize performance and capacity management KPIs for proactive management of large distributed infrastructure environment.
• Work as part of a service specific engineering team to design, deploy and support 24x7x365 operations
• Work as part of a virtual team of engineers responsible for defining and driving technology standards across the Service Platforms team
• Consolidates system data to formulate reports for business managers
• Continue to build and maintain positive customer relationship with team you support
• Present service/solution architecture to larger audience and provide service operations status to the stakeholders

Who are you

• Bachelor s Degree
• 8+yrs of Experience
• Prior experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer with a service operational background supporting high availability 24x7x365 environments (in relevant software or internet service industry is preferred).
• Strong working experience with Linux (CentOS and Red Hat).
• Programming & Scripting Skills (Ruby or Python or Java, scripting skills via Puppet, Ruby, OR Python). Willingness to learn new programming language and using AWS
• Experience working with App-Server & Open Source Components. Tomcat, Memcached, Hadoop, Elastic Search, or Voldemort (at least two of these components)
• Understanding of Database , RDBMS concepts and technologies (MySql is preferred)
• Working experience in Use of Subversion/Git or equivalent software repositories in Linux centric development environment
• Conceptual knowledge of server virtualization technology (Hypervisor, OpenVZ)
• Conceptual knowledge of Network storage (NFS, DAS, NAS, SAN & Virtualized) and Luster (file system)
• Use of monitoring Tools like Nagios/Ganglia/Cloudwatch preferred.
• Understanding of Data Security (PCI-DSS), Network Security, PKI Encryption, Network topology, DNS & load balanced environments (managed switch, firewalls , Load balancer - F5)
• Protocols: HTTP, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP, SOAP, REST (two or more)
• Ability to succeed in a highly matrixed, virtual and international culture where change and speed are part of daily work.
• Strong analytical and strategic skills with clear understanding of the lifecycle of software based services.
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred or Nice to Have s

• Experience with AWS , Working knowledge of AWS SDK (software dev. Kit) for Java/Ruby
• (Master s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred)
