Lead Engineer - Electrical Responsibilities:
Plans and schedules assigned work and determines staffing needs to meet the project milestones and assumes responsibility for meeting manhour budget and project schedules for all work assigned to the group or subordinate personnel
Receives technical guidance from Group Leader, Group Supervisor or Electrical specialists only on unusual or complex problems.
Provides technical guidance and assigns work to engineers, designers, drafters and others who assist in performing specific assignment.
Independently contacts project personnel, vendor s representatives and project field personnel to gather and give information. Contacts client counterparts as directed.
Focal point for Electrical discipline activities in multidisciplinary project. Performs interdisciplinary checks. Responsible for layout engineering, system studies, electrical calculations and report generation. Development and verification of project control document and status report. Interacts with design staff for generation of SLD, Interconnection drawings, control schematics, layouts. Participates in Model Reviews and other project related workshops.Maintains project Contract review, KPI, Change Tracking, Schedule Tracking, Productivity and dashboard reporting, Value Engineering, Lesson Learnt etc.
Design protective relaying schemes, relay co - ordination, system study reports, Single Line diagrams. Review design documents, Subcontractors/ Vendor documents for technical compliance. Performs technical audits as and when required. Prepares, reviews or monitors project controls, cost estimates, quantity take offs and manpower requirement. Gives on - the - job training, promotes development of subordinates, evaluates and counsels assigned personnel. Profile (Skills & Qualifications): Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, with at least 10 - 15 years of relevant industry experience Practical work experience of 10 - 15 years in design engineering to demonstrate as experienced electrical engineer. At least 5 years of experience in leading multi discipline engineering team, preferably in Oil and Gas sector. Commissioning and field execution experience in switchyard/ electrical substation work is a plus. Evidence of Value Engineering efforts in executed projects.Knowledge and experience with various IS,IEC,BS, ANSI codes and standards as well as various PMC standards.
Proficiency in ETAP/SPEL/AVEVA software. Proficient 3D model review in SPR/Navisworks. Advanced analytical, problem solving, accuracy, attention to details, and interpersonal skills.Ability to establish deadlines for the team, manage priorities, and effectively achieve the goals in fast paced environment is critical.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is essential. Ability to foster communication within diverse cultural environments.
Ability to plan, communicate/present concepts and reports on complex topics with the ability to persuade and influence others as needed.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and to respond appropriately.Must Have Skills:
Development of macro in Excel Overall delivery of technical deliverables of the task force Leadership of technical issue resolution Productive utilization and absorption of engineering and design resources Prioritization and planning of engineering activities and deliverables o Performs discipline engineering scope.Provides leadership to a team strength upto 15 engineers and designers.
Responsible for achieving department KPI objective, productivity, milestones in a multidisciplinary task force.
Supports field technical issues and support sub - team leads in technical communications with clients/vendors when required.
Represents discipline in project task force in all major workshops and meetings.
