Job Description

Lead Software EngineerJob Locations IN-MumbaiRequisition ID 2021-57210 Category Research & Development Whats the role The RoleYou will join an agile team to drive development of geo-spatial processing, enrichment and transformation tools with the goal to source map content in a highly automated manner on a global scale. You will work closely with HERE s Core Map data.For that you will

  • Develop new software products from the ground up and extend and maintaining them in an innovative and iteratively growing environment
  • Implement tools to enhance both automated and semi-automated map data processing, involving backend/service-based software stacks, but also dashboard components for data tracking and analysis
  • Apply and extend CI/CD tools and execute end-2-end ownership of your developed Software stack, including DevOps and testing aspects
  • Work closely with other full stack and frontend engineers on the team to de/-refine APIs and system integrations
  • Work with other engineering teams and internal customers to identify new opportunities, address critical needs, and tackle complex problems using your backend development expertise
  • Become an authority at demonstrating internal platform resources and APIs
Who are you Must have
  • E/B.Tech in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Geoinformatics
  • 7+ years of software development experience, with 2+ year of experience in a Lead Engineer role
  • Excellent applied Java and/or Scala skills
  • Excellent DBMS & SQL skills, with a strong preference on PostgreSQL / PostGIS
  • Strong and applied AWS skills (EC2, S3, RDS,.), as well as experience with virtualization like Docker
  • Strong experience in Web Service technologies (SOA, REST, JSON, XML are familiar)
  • Strong skills in geo-spatial data (vector and raster) and algorithms
  • Familiar with geo-spatial-standards (e.g. Spatial Features Specification, GeoTIFF)
  • Strong experience CI/CD tools, with a preference on Jenkins
  • Good knowledge of using issue tracking tools (e.g. JIRA), code collaboration tools (e.g. Git/GitLab) and team collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence/Wiki).
  • Good knowledge of Linux/Unix familiar with shell scripting
  • Familiar with the OpenStreetMap tool stack (Overpass API, OSMOSIS, data editing tools, )
  • Comfortable with working within a multi-team environment
  • Experience in working with distributed teams
  • Strong Presentation skills to demo and explain for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Very strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
