Job Description

    *The Role Responsibilities Job Role Liquidity, FTP and IRRBB GPO function is a 150+ strong Centre of Excellence under Global Finance Services focussing on SCB wide Balance Sheet Information Management, Reporting and Analytics. This includes Liquidity, Funds Transfer Pricing, and Interest Rate Risk in Banking Book (IRRBB) reporting, decision support and other analytics.The Treasury Function at SCB Treasury works closely with senior management, the businesses, Country CEOs / CFOs, and Finance to manage and promote the bank s liquidity, capital, and balance sheet position. Treasury is laser-focussed on its vision to be Open, progressive and trusted, working commercially with our partners to create sustainable value by balancing the supply and demand of liquidity and capital.Within Treasury (which comprises Capital, Liquidity and Markets), the Treasury Liquidity function is responsible to driving the strategic liquidity agenda, including Funds Transfer Pricing ( FTP ) and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Booking ( IRRBB ). The Liquidity, FTP and IRRBB team works with key stakeholders at the country level to ensure policy application, and with a broader universe of stakeholders to ensure the application of policy is appropriate to drive the strategic outcomes for the balance sheet.The foundation for this is the identification, risk capture and measurement of interest rate characteristics of client facing exposures. A key function of the FTP approach is to neutralise, to the extent feasible, the interest rate risk in the business, primarily by transferring this risk to Treasury. This is done by using an internal pricing mechanism between the Treasury and the business that matches the underlying interest rate used between the business and their clients for the given asset, liability, or portfolio.The role of Associate Lead, FTP Analytics, is to play the role of a Data and Analytics expert within the team to help roll out strategic platform for FTP computation as well as create relevant, consistent, and timely information to make better commercial decisions. The role will work directly with several teams primarily FTP Policy, Change, Finance, and Technology while partnering closely with the Business, End users of rates (pricing) and other parts of Treasury.Key responsibilities include
    • Partnering with the Treasury Liquidity (FTP) team to design and produce:
      • Insightful MI, including commentary on drivers of variances.
      • Ad-hoc analyses based on business requirement.
    • Support the rollout of strategic platform for FTP computation, and the design of Target Operating Model as part of transformation.
    • Act as a change gate keeper and ensure that the changes made to the systems and processes are smoothly embedded into BAU.
    • Support the team lead in building relationship with Group and Regional teams across Finance and Treasury.
    Strategy Support the FTP Analytics team lead in developing FTP MI strategy, which is as follows
    • Ensure FTP provides the right incentives to Business to steer Balance Sheet outcome and drive Group RoTE.
    • Inform client pricing decisions on a forward-looking basis.
    • Facilitate consistent performance management review across countries and business
    • Ensure FTP reflects the appropriate Liquidity valuation in each country:
    Leverage investment in the strategic FTP platform to deliver MI strategy and improve outcomes in terms of accuracy, timeliness, and insight.Business Support the lead in providing insightful MI and advisory to senior management to deliver the MI strategy.Build quick and efficient analytics (MI) that can be consumed by key stakeholders (primarily the Treasury Liquidity (FTP) team) to make day to day key decisions
    • Quickly become an SME in the bank s FTP data flow from booking system to general ledger. This will involve understanding the underlying FTP system and data architecture in depth.
    • Analyse and work on building solutions with the tools that are currently available within the bank s resources to produce MI catering to the stakeholder needs.
    While the list is not exhaustive, the key MI includes sensitivity analysis of Business / Client performance, FTP rate projections, comparative NIM analysis and attribution of FTP income by basis risk, liquidity term premium and cost of liquidity to facilitate FTP neutral framework, and sources and uses of funds by tenor and regulatory consumption.All the above MI will need to be segregated into interest rate and liquidity components and a total all in FTP.Support FTP and Change teams in transformation of FTP computation from legacy to strategic platform.Processes Support FTP Analytics lead in
    • execution, and delivery of assurance with regards to data sourcing, calculations, and generation of MI.
    • establishing nimble and agile process for generating required MIs coupled with robust control and governance to ensure timeliness and accuracy of deliverables.

    • Support in building MI expertise within the team through designing and executing relevant learning and development interventions as well as on-the-job training.
    Risk Management
    • Support in building appropriate process controls for accurate calculations and monitor the same for handling exceptions.
    • Establish adequate documentation around new functionalities, Processes, and Target Operating Model.
    Governance
    • Support in adhering to the governance by leveraging data quality and operational risk forums as applicable.
    • Monitor, implement and review of controls and issues that arise from the audit and other review activities.
    Regulatory and Business Conduct

    Our Ideal Candidate
    • Degree in Finance (MBA) / Economics / Quantitative fields from a reputed institution.
    • Finance Professionals (Qualified Chartered Accountant) or Certifications like FRM, PRM or CFA will be an added advantage.
    • 6 - 8 years of proven experience and knowledge in Treasury / Liquidity from top-tier banks similar in scale and complexity as that of SCB or consultancy firms
    • 3 years of experience in data analysis, data architecture, data transformations, building end to end inhouse data flows (pipes) from source to output, in a bank environment.
    • 2 years of experience in end-to-end data extraction, ETL, transformation and MI building.
    • Hands on experience with Balance Sheet Management platforms (Moodys Analytics, RiskPro, QRM, Oracle, etc.) or booking platforms (ACBS, Murex etc.) is a major advantage.
    Role Specific Technical Competencies
    • Understanding of Bank s business and banking products, balance sheet structure, financial data, regulatory liquidity metrics and fundamentals of Interest Rate Risk management.
    • Very strong business acumen, to define business logic and methodology consistent with business intents and / or regulatory guideline, while factoring in current data / system constraints and platform capabilities.
    • Hands-on experiences navigating through complex system / data landscape, identify key gaps, assess business materiality, and apply assumptions to achieve a concrete business outcome (e.g., P&L, risk reduction).
    • Understanding and practical experience in Liquidity Risk, Interest Rate risk, ALM, FTP, and / or balance sheet optimisation.
    • Proficiency in Python and either R or SQL.
    • Analytics, Knowledge of Analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and problem-solving skills.
