Job Description

Founded in 1999, Magic Bus works with children and young people living in poverty, in India, taking them from a childhood full of challenges to a life with meaningful livelihoods. We equip children and young people in the age group of 12 to 18, with the skills and knowledge they need to grow up and move out of poverty. Children on the Magic Bus programme successfully fend off destabilizers such as child marriage and child labour to complete school and become first-generation salary earners having secure careers in the organised sector.Project Manager shall be responsible to contribute substantively to donor calls and requests independent of senior management presence or absence, manage projects, coordinate and ensure timely delivery.Tasks and responsibilities- Responsible for collaborating with the DPMs / RD to ensure smooth implementation of the program.- Liaise with the Operations Team to plan and launch programs as per the planned target launch schedule.- Periodically monitor project progress in line with results and agreed timelines, stock-take on challenges, positive outcomes, facilitate cross-learning, innovation as well as trouble shooting to ensure quality and timeliness- Follow ups on schedule / updates and checks on progress and performance of the team in line with PIP and discussion revision of PIP as per emerging needs and circumstances- Work with the internal Curriculum & Training teams to develop/customize and deliver Life Skills and CLC programme.- Work with Impact, operations and Programme Development team to design, implement and leverage high impact plans- In collaboration with the concerned CRM, be accountable & responsible for project data, its analysis and representation and donor discussions on progress, achievement and challenges. Be able to effectively and substantively represent the programme perspective and the depth of the interventions- Continuous data and information analysis through extensive field team interactions and adolescents and community outreach to suggest course corrections, innovation and ensure documentation of learning and programme insights- Represent the programme rationale, perspective, result-orientation and effectiveness during presentations and reviews with Funding & Knowledge PartnersCriteria Essentials/Desirables- Knowledge and Skills Excellent understanding of Program which include knowledge and extensive hands on experience in project management on issues concerning adolescents, and education and learning.- Good understanding of field realities, programme need, donor commitments and management by results. - Understanding of programme data, analysis, representation as well as excellent coordination, problem solving and follow-up/mentoring skills - Excellent project management skills which include devise and use project/account plans, budgets, monitoring & evaluation, and other financial information- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, (including the preparation of training materials), emphasis on project document and knowledge management related to the projects- Excellent planning and forecasting skillAttributes - Networking and Partnership Building - Ability to plan and prioritise work and manage a busy workload under pressure, while maintaining a positive attitude- Ability to work effectively network and liaise for business & partnerships - Entrepreneurial, with high-energy levels and the passion to succeed - Demonstrate ability to work in ambiguity and be decisive - Have impeccable integrity and high personal ethics - Innovative and Solutions and application orientation and thinking on the go- He/she must be able to adhere to the highest ethical and moral standards and be able to display transparency. Academic & Professional requirements - Around 10 years of Projects and Operations management work experience, preferably in managing adolescent and/or education projects at scale- Post-graduation in social work , social sciences, development studies or related fields - Certificate like PMP or the like in Project Management discipline is preferable- Experience of managing a portfolio of activities in a target-driven environment - Experience of managing cross functional relationships within multi-disciplinary teams- Willingness to travel extensively to all parts of India, mainly project locations,
