Motor Underwriter (General Insurance)
We have been retained by a professionally managed by a General Insurance Company with an international affiliation to identify a Motor Underwriter to be based at Mumbai. JOB PURPOSE :As a key member of the Motor Underwriting Team, this role is accountable to determine if its profitable for the insurance company to take the chance on providing insurance and valuating the risk of insuring a car, driver or individual.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensuring underwriting technical standards and underwriting profit by Prudent Risk selection. Adequate Pricing of products and risks. Monitoring and Management of portfolio. Contribute for conceptualisation and development of new products. To Create and maintain a sustainable portfolio in line with Underwriting policy of the company and to achieve underwriting technical standards. Developing underwriting Policy, guidelines review. Process development, implementation, review and continual improvement. Development of team and sharing of knowledge. Imparting knowledge to sales team to aid customer satisfaction. To achieve targeted sales and combined ratio on motor portfolio. To guide, train, drive Managers and sales team of the company to generate motor insurance business. To get empanelled Auto Dealers, Auto DSAs, Tied Agents and other motor insurance distributors. To ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, control loss of business due to malpractice and adherence to compliance. To conduct motor portfolio reviews on the basis of MIS and take effective actions. To ensure timely hiring and training of Agents along with training Managers Sales team. To ensure that Insurance Managers Agency Managers understand and institute levels of customer- service and quality- of- service consistent with stated goals. Ensuring effective administration of incentive program and product training to ensure effective sales.

Strong planning and organizing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Demonstrated effective management, communication, and leadership skills. Good knowledge of insurance product features, pricing and underwriting guidelines. Ability to work under pressure and meet personal deadlines.
CANDIDATE PROFILE :Candidates should be Engineering Graduates with an MBA in Finance, with about 5 to 7 years of experience in motor underwriting.
