Job Description

    A dynamic, customer focused individual who has the drive and ability to operateconfidently and, at times, independently to provide operational and maintenancesupport for the LM2500 Gas Turbine engine and supporting Auxiliaryequipment.This role is based in Mumbai / Kolkata (onsite at Kochi Shipyard as required).In this role you will provide technical assistance for the installation, start up,preventative and/or corrective maintenance of the LM2500 / LM2500G4 marine gasturbine engines (GT) and associated auxiliary support equipment (GTAE) during shipconstruction and in-service operation leading up to delivery.Role OverviewOverseeing and participating in the installation, power-up, functionalchecks, and operation of GT, and the GTAE for fuel, air, fire suppression,control, water wash, and ventilation systems. Coordinating and generating responses to customer technical inquirieson GT and GTAE Oversight of GT and GTAE repair and commissioning activities Coordinating OEM field service representative (FSR) requirements insupport of the commissioning of GT and GTAE systems. Oversight of OEM FSR work activities and completion to include shipyardapproval as necessary with supporting documentation. On-site inspection and supervision of OEM FSRs dispatched in support ofGT and GTAE systems. Auxiliary system-to-gas turbine integration checks as well as GTAE systemchecks After market service support of GT and GTAE system Participate in meetings with Shipyards and Navy during installation,setting to work (STW), harbor acceptance trials (HAT) and sea acceptancetrials (SAT). Participate in IHQ meetings, as required. Attend-sponsored technical hands-on training when available, e.g.borescope, hot section, cold section, controls, etc. Administrative duties, as assigned.The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate should have experience with aero-derivative gasturbines & shipyard backgroundRequired Qualifications:Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or current equivalent, with atleast 5 years of experience with aero-derivative gas turbines. Up to 50% travel required including naval vessel underway periods at sea. Willing and able to travel internationally. Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Excel, Word,PowerPoint) Valid driving license and passportPreferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college Strong oral and written communication skills. Naval or merchant navy ship construction / shipyard background Ability to read and understand electrical schematics Ability to read and understand control schematics Prior naval or merchant navy engineering rating a plus. A minimum of 2 years of experience specialising in marine propulsion orpower generation maintenance, repair or inspection experience at theengineer or technician level, concentrating on the specific application ofgas turbines Additional consideration given to candidates who are OEM Level 2trained (or naval gas turbine inspector training,) with 5 years gas turbineinspection experience or possessing 10 years marine /merchant navy /industrial gas turbine inspection experience. This position requires candidate to routinely work on an as-needed andon-call basis
