Job Description

Department Description With exponential year-over-year growth of data generated, strong Data Governance is critical to ensure clean, fit-for-purpose data. The CIB Chief Data Office (CDO) is responsible for defining and implementing the Firmwide Data Management strategy to create an industry-leading data environment.The program scope continues to evolve and encompasses cultural, behavioural, procedural and systemic transformation across the full range of data domains (such as reference, market and transaction). CIB CDO offers a unique perspective into the role of data in the financial industry, partnering with a variety of stakeholders across sub-LOBs, Corporate Functions and the Firmwide Data Management organization. Background The successful candidate will join a local team of 7 and be part of a global team focused on delivering business impact through creating and implementing a data governance and data controls framework across the CIB assuring full compliance with the Firmwide Data Policy and Standard. The role will require working with stakeholders across the CIB, other LOBs and Corporate Functions to ensure fit-for-purpose data, looking to leverage best practice across the industry and other J.P. Morgan business units.This role provides an outstanding opportunity at JPMorgan Chase for the selected candidate to join a high profile team and take a partnership role, supporting one of the Bank s most significant change programs. Key roles and responsibilities: Support the team to deliver global CDO Data Governance and Controls, Records Management Remediation, Data Use Governance, and Privacy and Protection priorities within the CIB, including all relevant sub-LOBs : Date Governance and Controls
    • Help build and maintain Data Governance dashboards including data sourcing, extraction, transformation, loading and visualization (Tableau / Qlik) including metric calculations and thresholds
    • Produce and disseminate MIS reporting including from dashboards and other manual sources as needed, including training metrics sourced from HR (eLearning reports)
    • Maintain CIB CDO documentation (procedures, charters, operating models, job aids, etc.) including tracking of periodic refreshes
    • Track and chase the completion of tasks within the CIB CDO and the CIB sub-LOBs e.g. training completion, surveys, etc.
    • Help create presentations to assist in delivering consistent messages to our partners, stakeholders, regulators and clients.
    • Support the adoption and implementation of the CIB Data Owner and CDO governance roles and responsibilities as needed.
    • Perform Program Management duties such as tracking the status of MyPM plans including timely updates in according with established reporting cycles, chasing plan owners for updates, etc.
    • Run and produce Program Management outputs such as MyPM reports.
    • Perform Data Governance duties such as maintain meeting schedules and attendee lists, collating materials, taking and disseminating minutes, recording and chasing action items.
    • Maintain any required Data Governance inventories (e.g. database of Policy must statements ) including chasing for completion, review, confirmation and evergreen maintenance.
    • Assist the global Data Governance team as needed in any other duties to provide LOB level support and guidance.
    Data Use Governance
    • Provide Analysis on Data Use cases with application level reviews to help determine effectiveness of the data use control function.
    • Assist the business is defining data use cases which they can self-identify and to provide future guidance to approve certain cases that are repetitive.
    • Assist in overseeing the Data Use Monitoring of new and existing cases.
    • Run the Machine Learning Program to generate data use case similarity report on a weekly basis. Provide data via excel export from Databook to DS team to help train the ML models.
    • Capture Forms / Quality Backfill to/from seal Ids for all historic cases to enhance our data analysis capabilities like Lineage, SOR analysis and client data flow
    • Test and evaluate new changes to our data use capture system and monitoring program.
    Records Management
    • Managing monthly retention & destruction governance workflows and reviews for applications
    • Run the Shared Drive Remediation Desk
      • Work with our Record Retention and destruction Team to resolve issues created by our legacy shared drive access.
      • Assist Users with Shared Drive Classification and data migration/clean-up:
        • Shared Drives with potential encryption and protection issues. Remediation is required drive by drive, following a runbook agreed with GTI, GIAM, FDM.
        • Work with Shared Drive owners to ensure drives identified as storing data in support of legal and regulatory retention requirements are reviewed and assigned a class code/country by required due date
    Privacy/ Protection / Storage
    • Monthly FDM metrics review linking exceptions to root causes, chasing tech for updates and preparing materials
    • Local or Legal entity support and remediations help prioritize, document and facilitate any Local data governance or Privacy issue as they may arise.
    Skills Required
    • 4-6 years experience in Financial Services. (Experience in CIB and/or Data Governance/management preferred)
    • Preferred background in any of the following: Data Analytics, Ops, with Project Management/Business Analysis skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large data sets in Excel (pivots, formulas, charts, etc.)
    • Familiarity with Tableau or Alteryx development
    • Experience producing PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences
    • Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills - candidate will be dealing with stakeholders of varying degrees of seniority across Corporate/Firmwide, Finance, Risk, Compliance , Operations and Technology teams
    • Effective change management skills - ability to support & adapt within a changing environment
    • Self starter, able to work autonomously, with strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high standard
    • Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
    • Basic understanding of the companys business practices and familiarity with the companys products and services
    • Basic understanding of project management lifecycle and Technology SDLC (software development lifecycle)
    • Experience of Data Management principles would be advantageous
