Job Description

We are building the #1 Asset Management Technology platform in the world and we need exceptional, motivated, and world-class talent to join the Portfolio Core Technology team at JP Morgan Asset Management. You must have a passion for delivering transformational technology platform and services to business (internal and external clients).This role is responsible for execution and delivery of a strategic and global IBOR/ABOR history store solution for Asset Management.Key capabilities include:

• Front office view of positions and transactions; independent of custody and accounting.
• Single authoritative source for IBOR and ABOR - no exceptions around region, asset classes, fund type, etc.
• Source of truth for COB, SOB, intra-day, and historical data sets (since inception).
• Data segregation and visibility rules to support external clients (multi-tenancy).
• Offers timeliness, accuracy, completeness, fast speed of access, and data quality guarantees.

We have existing legacy Accounting Datamart environment, providing services to the Back Office Operations and downstream clients in the Investment Management business. The ADaM platform supports over $900bn of AUM across all asset classes, there are over ~6,000 active accounts with ~600,000 daily positions and ~5,000 to 140,00 daily transactions.

1. Data / Programmer Analyst acts as a Functional Analyst + Data Specialist. You will bring (and build) functional expertise in Asset Management data and lifecycle of trades and securities. In addition, you will bring laser sharp focus and attention to details towards project execution, tracking, course correction, escalations, etc.
2. To start with, you will support existing legacy US Accouting DataMart and would be involved in application development of ETL feeds and Business Object reports, production/support in Overnight COB/SOB Processing of Accounting data, Regulatory and Client statement, New Client feed generation etc.
3. Involved in holistic development of the accounting platform including tactical enhancements, Technology upgrades, performance tuning and provide a depth of both business and technology service to the program.
4. You will coordinate and help run working group meetings for new initiative with members from operations, technology, CDO, and select others from front office and external parties.
5. You will be hands-on in the discovery of investment accounting differences amongst regions and amongst front office, accounting, and custodian/fund administrator views. You will get sign-off on current and target state processes around reconciliation of these views.
6. You should be able to build lightweight prototype models in excel / Tableau.
7. Project Management throughout the full systems development life cycle using both Agile and waterfall methodologies
8. Drive issue escalation and resolution; risk identification and mitigation and the overall removal of roadblocks that impede progress of the project
9. Defining, documenting, and communication of standardized Agile delivery processes to be adopted by various teams
10. Liaise with management in key stakeholder groups (i.e. Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, etc.)
11. Development and implementation of work plans
12. Coordination across various cross impacted teams

Qualifications:

• MUST: At least a BS degree from a reputed university/college. Certification / diploma / degree in finance or economics is preferred.
• 4-6 years of experience in technology
• Experience with the use and capabilities of ETL software, Informatica preferred.
• Reporting experience
• Good knowledge of operating systems: Linux, UNIX, Windows.
• SQL knowledge on Oracle and Sybase databases.
• Knowledge an use of TOAD, SQL Developer and Rapid SQL
• PERL and UNIX scripting experience.
• Big data using Hadoop and Spring Cloud dataflow is plus
• Message Queue experience is desirable
• Experience with the use and capabilities of scheduling through Control-M
• Understanding of Asset Management value chain and corresponding data sets lifecycles of trades and securities and valuation of holdings. Understanding of investment accounting of equities, futures, fixed income, and derivatives is a plus.
• Experience working through entire lifecycle of at least one large complex application build-out and delivery for either a large financial organization or a top-class technology product team.
• Knowledge of agile delivery and software development lifecycle is expected.
• Knowledge of project management framework and methodologies is a plus.
• Proven leadership qualities as well as high performance track record
• Hands on experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, etc.
