Job Description

Import /Export collections is a heavily used flow trade product and contributes about 8% of overall Flow trade revenues. With digitisation as a key pillar to transform the business over the next 3-5 years. The role is expected to grow the collections business, reduce cost-income ratio working with operations to leverage OCR/NLP and similar technologies and also eventually lead the collections capabilities requirements for build on TradeXpress. The role involves working with risk function owners, operations, proprietary channels/capabilities as also working with digital teams to digitize these flows.BusinessThis group product manager role - flow trade collections will:

  • Own the import, export collections suite of products, drive product performance and increase the trade and swift market share penetration
  • Ensure appropriate product governance is in place and work with relevant risk stakeholders so that the product complies with all processes and policy guidelines.
  • Understanding and drive channels & delivery channel capabilities, and commercialisation of these.
  • React to new trends & technology and work closely with Technology and Channels team to enable Trade Digitisation.
  • Provide support for Key RFP and critical deals for strategic clients
  • Directly responsible for product P&L globally for collections suite, with clear responsibility over pricing for all products and management of assets, contingents and for the allocation of RWA
  • Monitoring market changes and pricing strategies across markets.
  • Support the origination process in-country by collaborating with local stakeholders to structure solutions/ local variants in line with local regulatory/ business requirements while still mitigating any residual risks in the solution
  • Drive revenue and asset initiatives centrally in conjunction with regional teams by ensuring that regional action plans are in place and revenue targets are achieved
  • Determine standard product pricing framework and monitor collection of fee and NII across products
  • Develop a Product strategy for products under management to meet global objectives, in line with the overall Transaction Banking strategy.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to capture opportunities, mitigate threats and deliver financial performance. Recommend and plan actions to build or reinforce our competitive edge
  • Directly responsible for articulating the product strategy and executing product initiatives on the annual operating plan globally for products under managemen
  • Directly responsible for understanding customer needs through feedback from Sales teams and developing client value propositions that will address them across all client segments
  • Support launches of product enhancements, new products, channels or new platforms as required. Work jointly with regional Sales and Marketing to develop collaterals for various markets, commercialize product launches, and develop a commercialization strategy to ensure that the new products meet planned volume and revenue targets
  • Ensuring global training initiatives are executed across all regions in line with the global commercialization agenda.
  • Identify and market-size new business opportunities and revenue pools and articulate the product capabilities needed to seize a share of them
Processes
  • Drive end to end product performance, improving efficiency through the e-agenda, straight through processing, ensuring scalability to grow & reduction in CIR for the business.
  • Ensure standard GDOIs authored by trade operations are aligned to the group PPG for this product suite.
Risk Management & governance
  • Identify and mitigate the end 2end Operational, Credit, Regulatory and Business conduct risks relating to collections products
  • Work with operations to improve overall service standards and to ensure that quality of service to customers remains superior to competition
  • Ensure timely renewal of country addendums (CAs) and proactively work with stakeholders to identify and quantify new and existing risks.
  • Good understanding of overall operational & conduct risks in trade.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Lead the Doc Trade Digitisation initiatives to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • At least 3 years of trade finance/supply chain experience with at least 2 years of strong exposure in documentary trade, import export collections.
  • Exposure to trade operations and technology for documentary products maybe an added advantage.
  • Certifications such CSDG would be an added advantage.
