Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.This is a senior Product Management role within the development/product management team for the Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database. You will be responsible for the Asia Pacific region looking after existing customers in India, China, Japan and Korea and helping to win new customers across the region. The role involves a significant amount of travel both within the JAPAC region and also to the USA.The ideal candidate will:- Have good spoken and written English skills- Have a strong background in relational database technology, preferably with experience of in-memory technologies.- Have a good knowledge of SQL.- Have basic programming skills in either Java or C/C++ and knowledge of database APIs such as JDBC, OCI and ODBC.- Have a good working knowledge of the Linux operating system including shell scripting.- Have strong customer facing skills including presentation skills.- Be confident and able to have discussions at both the technical and business levels.- Be a team player but also self motivating and able to achieve their goals without day-to-day management oversight.- Work to become a Subject Matter Expert for TimesTen.A working knowledge of Chinese, Japanese or Korean while not essential would be advantageous.This is a wide ranging role that includes:- Business development activities to promote TimesTen and to help drive customer adoption.- Supporting local field personnel and customers during Proof of Concept activities.- Acting as a trusted technology and architecture advisor to the Oracle field organization, customers and prospects.- Acting as the bridge between customers, prospects, support, sales and the Oracle development organisation.- Recruiting customers for, and supporting them during, product beta programmes.,
