WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

This position will be a part of a rapidly growing software team that will work on both big-vision and fast-execution projects getting stuff done in the short term while figuring out the next big thing. Most of our projects are focused on the digital space but we will be looking to bridge physical processes and products as well.

As a QA Engineer at nVent, you will be responsible for checking, fixing, and enhancing software products for defects or issues. QA Engineers will run various tests on software to ensure it meets all standards and guidelines and is ready to be marketed to consumers. You will identify issues and run debugging programs as needed, generate reports, and work with software developers to correct issues, and upgrade databases as required in an agile environment. You must be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. Bias for action, customer obsession, ability to dive deep into details, and exceptional communication skills are essential to success in this role.

In this position, you will get to:

• Lead QA testing for all new features and bug fixes across several sites
• Lead regression testing for all releases
• Institute regular QA processes and reporting for day-to-day CMS and content standards
• Troubleshoot reported CMS issues, resolving or working with others to resolve
• Test cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies
• Review and analyze system specifications
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop effective strategies and test plans
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
• Evaluate product code according to specifications
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Leverage Jira and X-Ray to create, manage and report test cases/results
• Apply test-driven development methodologies where applicable
• Help troubleshoot issues
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

YOU HAVE:

• Academic background in:
  • Bachelor s and/or Master s degree, or equivalent demonstrated work experience, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Development or similar.
• Previous experience in or with Acquia Cloud (Drupal-tuned application lifecycle management suite with a complete infrastructure) to support Drupal deployment workflow processes from development and staging through to production.
  • 7+ years of IT or software experience
  • 5+ years of Drupal web application and web site development, with experience building complex corporate web sites, eCommerce sites, portals, mobile/responsive sites with a high degree of customization and involving large data sets. Requires experience with integrations, in-depth knowledge of the platform and an understanding of modules/add-ons/extensions
  • 5+ years of development in client side scripting (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Ajax, Json)
  • 3+ years managing web application projects
  • Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber or similar test automation tools is a must
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools such as GitLab or similar source code, build and release management tools
  • Full-stack QA experience: functional, regression, load and stress
  • Knowledge of current industry standards related to user experience and design.
• Skills:
  • Drupal 7 & 8
  • Web knowledge in terms of developed, secured and high-performance websites
  • Drupal 7.x, configuring control modules.
  • Knowledge of Drupal SDLC
  • Strong front-end development skills
  • Familiarity with A/B testing
  • Agile development and project management methodologies
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to present and influence views in a clear and compelling manner
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, i.e., project scopes or proposals
  • Ability to resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
  • Stays up-to-date on new and evolving technologies via formal training and/or self-paced learning.
• Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands:
  • Ability to work with associates on a team under the supervision of a leader or work independently as necessary
  • Ability to work across time zones in a multi-cultural environment
  • The ability to clearly and comfortably view, interpret and process information via a computer monitor for extended periods during normal working hours is required
  • Potential travel requirements are 3 - 5 trips per year (including international travel)
