We deliver solutions through our market-leading business practices of Corporate Finance & Restructuring, Economic Consulting, Forensic & Litigation Consulting, Strategic Communications and Technology.Position SummaryFTI is seeking a Research Manager in Mumbai to work in coordination with a US based team. This team is a part of FTI s core operations group and works across all segments within FTI to support new client development and deepen relationships with existing clients. The Research Manager will report to leadership in the US and lead a team of India-based researchers, with primary responsibility to conduct company and law firm research.Key Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, and supervise staff in India
  • Supervise and perform research on companies, industries, law firms, and people using reputable sources, company websites, financial and legal filings
  • Organize findings into requested format (primarily MS Office tools), remove irrelevant information and summarize key points
  • Assist with preparation of key account reports, written analyses, presentations, and other deliverables
  • Help organize account activity and regularly record updates from a variety of stakeholders
  • Follow a process to help identify potential opportunities related to new or existing clients
  • Regularly update and screen for information on active litigation using US based court tools (e.g. PACER, Courtlink)
  • Independently evaluate and qualify litigation to narrow down what is relevant; discard irrelevant cases; compile into desired client-ready format
  • Conduct searches for executive contact information based on desired criteria; independently compile the final product in a client-ready format
  • Support key account efforts of FTI leadership in the APAC region
Key Requirements
  • 8-10 years experience in a research role, preferably in the professional services industry
  • Bachelor s degree in any discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in English
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a multi-task environment with very strong attention to detail
  • Capacity to critically evaluate and compare different sources of information and assumptions to assess reliability
  • Ability to work under pressure to respond to deadlines
  • Excellent work ethic, including a constant desire to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; able to format data for viewing
  • Technical acumen a major plus
  • Ability to present data succinctly, in an understandable and intuitive manner
