Senior Analyst Food and Agriculture Business We have been retained by our client, a well established, professionally managed multi-national company, to identify a Senior Analyst - food and agriculture business. The position is in the Vice President grade and is based at Mumbai. JOB PURPOSE: The incumbent is expected to research industry / companies, analysing their financials both, quantitative and qualitative aspects and garner information enabling management to make informed investment decisions. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the design and implementation of quantitative research from developing the methods to interpreting and disseminating the results.Review operating data and provide real-time advice to management in corporate decision-making processes.Analyse and research one of more sectors within food & agribusiness.Lead team efforts on complex projects, providing guidance, structure and training to staff and collaborators and manage department workflows including a portfolio of projects with shifting priorities and deadlines.Specific responsibilities include study design, dataset development, statistical modelling and analysis, survey research, statistical programming, technical documentation and preparation of tabular and written reports and oral presentations.Generation of Daily Research Reports with effective synchronization between economic principles and technical analysis of food and agricultural commodities.Creating Exhaustive Business Reports for specific commodities for corporate clients.Trace fundamental news and information from the market sources- Value addition to research reports as per market requirements.Detailed in- depth analysis of all the fundamental factors that could affect the market in the future (short term and long term).Provide value chain and company analysis for credit applications, consulting and corporate advisory projects.Respond to information requests and research global and regional market trends in collaboration with the global FAR teams.Prepare and present presentations at seminars, private and public sector events.To deliver services to meet internal and external client expectations.SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: Good knowledge of Indian food and agribusiness sectors. Good contacts in the industry.Strong analytical skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Competent in preparing and making presentations.Competent in Internet based research.Attention to detail.Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).Good understanding of basic financial statement analysis.Sound judgement and initiative.Work in partnership with colleagues.Ability to work productively in a team, think critically and debateissues.Practical and results-oriented, with strong level of self motivation.Ability and willingness to stretch and work on tight deadlines.Candidates should be PGDM/MBA in Agribusiness / business management from premium business school with about 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in the food and agribusiness.
