Job Description APAC Note to Hiring Manager:In support of BNP Paribas APACs Diversity Commitment, Hiring Managers are to consider at least 1 Asia Pacific national, 1 male and 1 female candidate for the position to be filled. Job Title:Associate and Senior Associate Date:18/01/2018 Department:Listed Derivatives Clearing Location:Chennai and Mumbai Business Line / Function:Clearing and Custody Services Reports to: (Direct) Manager Grade: (if applicable)NA (Functional) None Number of Direct Reports:None Directorship / Registration: Position PurposeTo clear and allocate Derivatives trade on behalf of the client. Ensure all trades are reconciled against cleaning house by the end of day.Work effectively with team members to accomplish common goals. Generate creative solutions to problems, Ability to plan work ahead and to prioritize workload in an organized manner. Responsibilities Direct Responsibilities

  • Process the reconciliation vis- -vis the clearing house (trades, premium, Initial margin, variation margin, fees etc.)
  • Trades allocation and trades booking (co-ordinate with brokers)
  • Follow-up & solving client queries
  • Manage reconciliation and maintain a flat accounting balance.
  • Prepare Goods and Services Tax invoicing
  • Adhere to daily checklist to ensure controls are followed.
  • Contributing ideas to improve the process by identifying appropriate control measures.
  • Ensure importance is given to four eye validation for each activity
  • Managing BAU emails/ phone calls related to Listed Derivatives
  • Ensure proper documentation for the purpose of risk and audit trail
  • Abiding the Service Level Agreements.
  • Escalate unresolved open items to the respective process Managers.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple
tasks and meets strict deadlines Contributing Responsibilities
  • Participate in Brain Storming Sessions and share the best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team members.
  • Constantly update and review procedures to keep up to date with the change in process.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and new initiatives.
  • Capture delay, internal error and External errors
  • Performing a range of daily, weekly, monthly controls to ensure completeness of processing and that any inappropriate postings, matching etc. is identified and resolved promptly.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
  • Organized & good resistance to stress.
  • Must be prepared to work on any shift supporting Asia/Americas/European business hours.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and VBA would be plus.
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills
Specific Qualifications (if required) An experience in Listed Derivatives Clearing would be a plus point.
