This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesThe role encompasses Control, Governance and Advisory aspects in supporting the Global Credit Markets business, with particular focus on structured investment and financing products.

  • Providing supervisory oversight and establishing a robust control environment over the Product Control process universe and financial markets product suite, including daily and month-end P&L reporting processes, significant trade reviews, trader conduct checks through transaction rate and cancel & amend reviews, balance sheet substantiation, front to back trade and valuation reconciliation, independent price verification and reserving etc.
  • Providing pre-execution and post-execution review and advisory for significant deals / structured / bespoke transactions and new product launches with consideration of accounting, valuation, onshore-offshore, tax sensitivity, commerciality, booking model and systems. Support new products rollouts and payoffs approvals to ensure robust control environment is maintained as new products are launched.
  • Supporting independent valuation review of the business portfolio including reserving.
  • Supporting local Finance teams and Group Finance by providing accounting advice and explain key P&L and balance sheet reporting components and drivers for external reporting.
  • Represent the function and provide thought leadership on strategic Business and Finance Change initiatives through to successful execution.
  • Partnering with the business across a wide range of topics and in executing the business strategy, including
    • Analysis of business performance and drivers of risk weighted assets
    • Provide advisory and solutions to the business on new product rollouts, booking models, particularly around the multi system, multi asset class product suite that the Credit business is involved with.
    • Transfer Pricing Policy and Governance
    • Hedge Accounting advisory
    • Accounting standards advisory
  • Support the interaction with regulators and internal / external auditors.

Our Ideal CandidateQualifications
  • Educated to degree level preferably with a Finance / Business background
  • Qualified accountant with at least 8+ years post qualifying experience. Possibility of exception where necessary skills and knowledge have been obtained through work experience.
Technical Skills
  • Strong working knowledge and expertise across financial market products, specifically on Credit Products, e.g. Loans, Credit Derivatives, Bonds, Repo, ABS etc.
  • Strong understanding and expertise in IFRS Accounting Standards and its application to financial markets products
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of the global regulatory challenges currently facing the financial markets
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong control mindset
