Based in Mumbai, Upstox is one of India s leading discount broking platforms, enabling Indians across the world, and a diverse segment, grow their wealth.About the Design TeamSplit into Product and Visual Communication, we re a tight Design team made of friendly, chill folk who like working collaboratively, attending gigs together, and swapping Spotify recommends. On account of Upstox impactful nature, our methods lay a strong emphasis on people research, we have a data-driven, design-first approach and acknowledge the impact well-designed experiences have on them. We believe product building doesn t stop at Release 1, are constantly improving Upstox, and in effect, currently expanding the team like cray for the phase ahead. If we ve struck a chord, YOU might just be The One we re looking for, Neo.So here s the red pill: we re looking for someone to own the design and partner with the Product and Technology teams to reshape the experience and interface of our essential products. We re also in a phase where we re improving processes and structure for a growing team, and you ll have the opportunity to contribute to it.Youll fit right in if.

  • You have 5+ years of experience in designing at consumer or business-focused tech or media companies; primarily for the web (though experience in mobile is a plus), and understand what it takes to create outstanding experiences.
  • You can work autonomously, take complete ownership of your product and responsibility for every last detail of its lifecycle, across multiple launches.
  • You can work in small teams where you ll provide the design and thought leadership to develop the right strategy, partnering closely with technology, product, and business folks to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges.
  • You let users lead the way and design keeping them in focus. Our users and partners are quite proactive in informing us of their expectations from Upstox. We emphasise on listening to them, letting their needs guide us to the best solutions. It s important for us to know we are solving problems for real people and we validate this through hands-on people research and testing.
  • You can communicate your ideas from initial brainstorms and concepts to the end polished designs, in conversation and written form.
  • You can rapidly produce multiple concepts; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fidelity sketches or wireframes and prototypes.
  • You work with industry-standard tools and practices to visualize and build your ideas in a scalable way that a growing team can use. Our design stack presently consists of Abstract, Sketch, Principle, Marvel, Zeplin, Pencil & Paper/Dropbox Paper/Notion/G Suite.
  • And lastly, youll fit in if you can take and give feedback, and can mentor others. We believe knowledge is of no use if not shared and no designer can exist as an island.
