MSCI has acquired several different Data and Analytics companies over the past few years. In order to leverage all of this intellectual capital, MSCI has embarked on an ambitious program to create a next generation DSL which merges not only these companies IP, but also allows for 3rd parties to dynamically contribute their data and analytics to what we believe will be the first true Financial Analytics platform in the market. Scope of Responsibility As the Technical Lead in Test, you will be working with some of the most accomplished multi-functional software teams in the industry. We need you to act as the main catalyst for building requirements in order to develop frameworks, tooling, automation and effective testing models. Our systems are large enterprise solutions spanning on-premise and cloud, Linux and Windows. You will lead the improvement of existing test infrastructure and guide the development of new automation tools and systems. Your background should also include experience with microservices. You have extensive hands-on experience testing and solving issues in enterprise-grade, multi-threaded applications. Your fluency with the concepts of threads, processes, concurrency, and distributed systems is vital to helping mentor your team. You have demonstrated an ability to breakdown complex problems, establish root cause and provide corrective actions for various issues. In this role, you will propose, define and implement processes/ standards for improved testing layers (functional/ system/ large-scale) and effective automation tools in line with Continuous Integration for a DevOps pipeline delivery model for all the product lines supported by MSCI functional quality Engineering team. Your extensive experience with all phases of the SDLC in an Agile environment is critical. We will also draw from your experience with different operating systems. Specific Knowledge/ Skills Requirements 10+ years experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations o 5+ years building test automation framework on top of open source tools o 3+ years of Object Oriented software development experience Ability to write code scripts to drive test systems Working knowledge of UNIX/ Linux environments Strong scripting and automation skills: Python, Bash, PowerShell, Windows Batch, Node. js Experience developing and maintaining CI/ CD automation: TeamCity, Jenkins Strong background in systems administration: Linux, Windows Strong experience supporting customer-facing applications on a Windows and Linux platforms Version control software expertise: GitHub Proven experience performing root cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting Ability to identify problems, and effectively communicate solutions to peers and management Comfort with collaboration, open communication, and reaching across functional borders Experience with Scrum/ Kanban/ SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with all levels of management Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field, or equivalent experience Desired Experience Prior working Experience with financial Industry Desired Qualifications Degree in computer science or Engineering Due to the great number of applications we receive for each of our open vacancies, we are unable to respond on an individual basis.
