Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Storage Management, Troubleshooting, implementation and Configuration Backup Software Management (Symantec Netbackup)
  • Storage provisioning, LUN Management, LUN masking, zoning, performance management and
  • volume
  • management(Planning, allocations and de-allocations)
  • Working with OEM/Vendor of resolution of issues
  • Capacity Management for Storage and backup
  • Software upgrades for SAN and Backup
  • Installation, configuration and operation of OEM provided software products ( like Device Manger,
  • Tuning Manager, EMC Unisphere etc.)
  • Carry out proactive and reactive administration on Linux and associated applications
  • Working experience in iscci (HBA as well as on IP), and FC
  • Working experience Multipath, thin provisioning, Dedup, tiering.
  • Good knowledge on snap shots and backup and backup tools across various platforms mentioned.
  • Perform Jobs based on SOP defined
  • Support change tickets for storage systems support work involving problem determination and
  • implementation of changes to storage devices, data backups
  • Ability to communicate and listen effectively.
  • Ability to understand Business requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
  • Ownership of Infrastructure and responsible for service uptime / availability
  • Evaluate multiple technologies for adoption
  • Provide help to other teams on complex issues
  • Documentation Skill (Creation of Known Error Database)
  • Ensure maximum uptime of infrastructure services
  • Working on Escalated/P1 issues and providing solution abiding the SLA.
  • System builds and configuration management.
  • Creation & Maintenance of operations Checklists
  • Associate with system engineering for designing new solutions
  • Problem Management /Change Management
  • Ensuring that the change requests are implemented within defined timelines
  • Carrying out feasibility check of Services
Technical Skills:
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Administrating SAN ( EMC, NetApp & Hitachi)
  • Experience with Administrating Large backup environment - Symantec NetBackup, with tape libraries
  • Understanding of VMware ESXi
