Senior System Engineer

Job Description

The primary role of the Senior Systems Analyst to work closely with enterprise Architect, Program management team & IT Infrastructure team to define the cloud strategy including private & public cloud for Vistra globally. He will be supporting the IT Infra & application team during the solution build phase and act as a single point of contact to ensure that it is implemented as per Global standard & design and smoothly transition over to operation team post completion of the project. This is a hands - on role, requiring experience in the design, deployment, and management of large scale services while ensuring that performance is not hindered and performance standards adhere to service level agreements set with the enterprise. The role does not include any direct line management of IT Support staff but needs to closely work with other technology specialist and assist Global IT team with various integration & consolidation projects. The Specialist is also responsible for technical specifications (design) , development, UAT testing, deployment, support, coordination of tasks and resources related to various integration projects. In addition to above, the role holder will be responsible to maintain good relationships with key business stakeholders and support during off business hrs as and when required. PERSON PROFILE EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE: Certificates: Technology certifications like Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA/ CCNP, Fortigate, Azure Cloud AZ100 & AZ101, Cloud security and Project management process knowledge is highly preferred, project management certification like PMP or Prince 2 will be added advantage. Responsibilities: Define, design & participate to build a high availability IT Cloud infrastructure environment including private, public cloud such as MS Azure, AWS etc. Engage and partner with varoius technology team to jointly develop the architecture matching requirements and constraints Defines the system landscape, identify gaps between the current and desired end - states, and delivers cloud - based solutions Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, available, fault - tolerant, and reliable applications on the Cloud Selecting appropriate Cloud services to design and deploy an application based on given requirements Migrating complex, multi - tier applications on Cloud Platforms Designing and deploying enterprise - wide scalable operations on Cloud Platforms Works with technical teams and senior architects to finalize specifications related to integration between numerous systems Work with senior IT management and business unit management locally as well as with global business groups Vendor management experience to work with local and Global vendors to effectively drive projects on time and within budget Participate and help with projects Budget requirement Work with the Solution and Enterprise Architects to resolve any issues encountered during the development, testing and deployment phases of development projects Must have managed and completed IT infrastructure migration project from in - house DC to Cloud services Ability to think ahead and plan/ build the infrastructure with scale and resiliency for the business Very strong technical knowledge and/ or experience in Cloud infrastructure related services Ability to develop solutions and work effectively on tight deadlines as necessary (time - management) Demonstrated ability to work and learn independently or as part of a team Must have working experience on various Cloud model such as PAAS, IAAS, SAAS Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals. Willing to learn and apply knowledge to improve solutions Must have experience on Planning, design and implementation of an application on Cloud Must have hand on experience on MS O365 Cloud infrastructure including emails, Skype for business, MS Team etc. Strong understanding knowledge on WAN & security technologies like on Fortigate & Cisco firewalls and next - generation firewalls, Web filtering, proxies, IPS/ IDS, (SSL) VPN Strong technical implementation knowledge on SD - WAN deployments Good experience in setting up monitoring tools and integration with Service management like PRTG, Opsview, Servicenow etc. Good understanding of financial ERP application like, MS Dynamic, QuickBooks, Infor SUN etc. Work closely with global peers for Network & IP telephony infrastructure support Good presentation skills, oral and written communication skills Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools especially Excel, Project and Power point Able to manage and develop a team to elevate technical skills and mi,
