Job Description

    *Role Responsibilities This senior role is within Tech Support team located in India - Bengaluru in a focused team supporting the key platform of the bank. The team has a number of unique challenges on an interesting and varied platform that has a key strategic importance for the bank. The role will demand in depth knowledge in Platforms, RedHat Linux, Low latency investigations, Automation, System monitoring and performance tuning.
    • SME role to provide all-lines (1st-3rd) BAU Unix/Linux support to the Ecommerce / Platform business.
    • High Severity incident management.
    • Change coordination and implementation. Adhere to Change Control and Fault Reporting Procedures.
    • Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Low Latency experience.
    • Audit, Risk and Control engagement.
    • Business continuity management.
    • PTP Configuration and Administration experience
    • Technical reviews and tools assessment.
    • Performance / stability reviews / improvements.
    • Put forward ideas to improve automation and / or efficiency and own through to implementation.
    • Drive Delivery/Engineering teams to provide fit-for-purpose solutions as required.
    • Work closely with PSS / Database / Network / Market Data Infrastructure teams to improve platform service offering.
    • Infrastructure stability and pro-active health management.
    • Server uplifts and decommission strategy
    • Configuration management of the Unix estate.
    • Operating system optimisation.
    • Work out-of-hours / weekends as needed.
    • Perform and Support Server Migration activities (P2V / V2V)
    • Participate in an on-call rota.
    • Service Improvement Plans.
    • SolarFlare experience.
    Our Ideal Candidate
    • University Diploma or degree preferred but not essential.
    • ITIL Foundation v3 / ITIL Service Transition - desirable.
    • Banking experience essential and Team player.
    • Very strong knowledge of Redhat Linux.
    • Strong shell, Python scripting skills and Ansible experience.
    • Low Latency or trading system experience and Understanding of Low Latency / high performance computing.
    • Low Latency Architecture and system design.
    • Configuration management using modern infrastructure.
    • Operating system build and design experience.
    • Hardware and software optimisation.
    • Good knowledge of co-located data centre environments.
    • Good working knowledge of Storage Infrastructure - SAN and NAS.
    • Good understanding of NTP and DNS architecture.
    • Good knowledge of BMC Patrol, ITRS Geneos.
    • Good working knowledge of Splunk and ability to manage splunk configuration, splunk queries.
    • Hardware and software optimisation. Knowledge about latest market trends and hardware suitable for low latency trading.
    • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and deliver.
    • Self starter, able to self manage with strong collaboration skills and able to interact effectively with others.
    • Excellent communication, both written and verbally.
    • Ability to resolve problems and incidents.
