JOB DESCRIPTIONSettlements OperationsJob PurposeThe role holder will be responsible for day to day running of the Equity/Fixed incomesettlements department covering a variety of financial products across European domesticmarkets. Markets include UK Domestic (Crest), Italy, Spain, France, Greece and Belgium as wellas emerging and Scandinavian markets. It includes Agent clear, Euro Clear, Ex-Moves, UKDomestic, Market Portfolio Settlements, Emerging markets and Reconciliations.The role holder will provide ad hoc information to key stakeholders and will take responsibilityfor providing relevant management information (MI) to senior management and will use thisinformation to predict trends and spikes in work volumes to plan the strategy and resourcing oftheir area.The role holder will lead and drive the identification of process improvements and synergies onan ongoing basis and will liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) on project enhancement forexisting and new markets and will monitor trends to make the processing of business morescalable within their budgeted headcount. The role holder will have accountability for elementsof their budget and will work with the business to meet any budgetary or headcount challengeswithout degradation to service. The role holder will lead the team in improving the StraightThrough Processing (STP) rate by identifying the root cause of exceptions and driving outinefficiencies from the business.Main AccountabilitiesPeople Management and Leadership:The role holder will set stretching objectives for self and team and deliver against thoseobjectives. They will lead, motivate, and develop teams to create a high performance cultureand enhance the knowledge base, skills, talent and capability of the team. These include theFront and Middle Offices, agent banks, clients, Euroclear and Crest.
