Job Description

    This role is an exciting opportunity to join a newly forming Credit SRE group - expected to be a team of 6 globally responsible for executing projects and initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Credit Production Management team, as well as enhance the stability of the technology platform. This role will be the team contributor based out of Mumbai.Credit Production Management team is part of global investment banking in J.P.Morgan, responsible for front-to-back support for Credit applications covering client connectivity, eTrading, algo trading, Risk & PnL and post trade processing. The technology platform supports the #1 Credit trading business in financial services, and is currently undergoing an extensive investment to modernize the platform.As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), youll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation. You ll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. In this environment, you ll take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow. As an SRE, you ll be focused on running better production applications and systems. Responsibilities
    • Design, code, test, and deliver software to automate manual operational work, supporting the wider Production Management team when needed
    • Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems, ensure permanent closure of incidents and follow-up with high quality root cause analysis and problem management
    • Engage with development, DevOps and QA teams throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes
    • Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives
    • Design and develop self-healing and resiliency patterns
    • Design and develop automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions
    • Work in close partnership with SRE members across the region and maintain high standards of team culture
    Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in an software engineering discipline
    • Expertise in at least one technology stack designing, coding, testing, and delivering software, with a strong preference for Python
    • Proficiency in one or more technology domains, may be a cross-domain expert able to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across the firm
    • Working knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g. routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks)
    • Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills
    • Good knowledge of at least one monitoring platform (e.g. Splunk, Dynatrace, Cortex etc.)
    • Ability to identify process inefficiency and develop solutions to address them
    • Excellent knowledge of cloud technology, CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment methods
