Job Description

      • Responsible for the uptime of the Unix (RHEL, Solaris) environment including DNS, LDAP, SMTP, NTP, Apache, Tomcat, Syslog, Send mail mailing system, Bluecoat proxy SG & AV services of client projects being managed / monitored.
      • End to end implementation of new Bluecoat proxy, Syslog servers, Unix systems and related services into production environment
      • Ensure that the tickets raised per shift are closed as per SLA and if not escalate as per the escalation Matrix defined.
      • Raise and also technically update the tickets in ticketing system for all the issues handled / worked upon.
      • Shift report generation on daily issues handled / escalated in the form of Daily reports.
      • Work on the change request and new Installations
      • Ensure earlier resolution to the issues to meet SLA
      • Ensure hardening & patching of devices meet compliance standards
      • Following up with Vendors, Service Providers & Partners hardware & software whenever required & resolve issues by minimizing downtimes
      • Generation of various weekly & monthly reports
      • Carry out proactive and reactive administration on Linux and associated applications
      • Ownership of Infrastructure and responsible for service uptime / availability
      • Ensure adherence to process
      • Monitoring & Management of Unix environment (systems, services & tools)
      • Strict adherence to defined policies, processes and procedures
      • Prepare SOPs and Operational Run books
Technical Skills
    • Hands on experience on any of the OS like SUN Solaris, RHEL, Centos, etc.
    • Hands on experience on public and private DNS servers.
    • Hands on experience on Internet protocols like DHCP, FTP, SMTP, HTTP.
    • Hands on experience on Bluecoat proxy SG & AV ( MUST)
    • Hands on experience on Send Mail with mail relay device Cisco Iron port.
    • Hands on experience on any of these apps - Apache, Tomcat, MySQL etc.
    • Good understanding of OS and application hardening
    • Working knowledge on any hardware like HP/Sun/IBM/Dell and corresponding tools like Open Manage, IBM Director, HP Insight, etc.
    • Knowledge of Monitoring tools like Zabbix, Net cool, Nagios etc. is preferable.
    • Knowledge on different flavors of UNIX would be an added advantage.
    • SUN Solaris, RHCE, Bluecoat proxy SG & AV Certified
