Job Description

    • To effectively handle litigation filed in Metropolitan Magistrate Courts u/s 138, Civil Suits, Criminal, Commercial, Consumer Disputes, Writ Petition, Arbitration, Company Law, Labour Laws and represent the Company before various Courts of Law, brief advocates, making drafts of various pleadings. Making timely replies to the Notices issued.
    • Ensure that all ongoing Litigations are planned and executed in an effective manner across all locations. Ensuring adherence to the Orders of the various Courts before which the Company is represented, to prepare defence in the matter filed against the Company. Ensure compliance of the mandatory requirements of Legal Metrology Act.
    • Conduct and engage in liason with Police / Investigating Authorities relating to Litigation matters of the Company.
    • Deliver effective results in Litigation matters by demonstrating effective planning and timely execution of various types of Litigation.
    • Create a team of Counsels, track and prepare Litigation MIS, drive Debtor Recovery through the Regional Legal Resources, effectively manage cost and control contingent liability.
    • Excellent relationship management and communication skills necessary for interacting with various Functions, negotiating Parties, Statutory Authorities and Financial Institutions, etc.
    • Provide and interpret Legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate Legal requirements related to Contracts/Agreements to various Functions.
    • Handling of all other activities related to the Legal Portfolio for the Region including maintaining of Databases, etc and other reports and status updates on a regular basis. Effective liaison with Other Regional Legal Managers.
    Knowledge and Skills Required
    • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of laws related to the government and/or semi Govt., Quasi Judicial Authorities (for drafting Letter, Reply Notices & coordinating with such Authorities).
    • Good Knowledge of the Stamp Act and changes being formulated on a Pan India basis (State to State basis).
    • Good planning and organization skills.
    • Proven ability to delicately solve/settle/negotiate with Parties in settling Legal Cases.
    • In-depth knowledge of regulatory law and other legal aspects related to the Company s business to avoid litigations arising out of execution of incorrect and incomplete contracts of medium and high value.
    • Speaks clearly and fluently, expresses opinions and arguments clearly and convincingly and makes presentations with confidence and with reasoning.
    • Keen to learn on the job and also be an excellent team player.
    • Must be dedicated to work and be of cooperative nature.
    • Should be committed to the profile and gain strong support and acceptance of other Functions through persuasive and negotiation skills. Should be able to manage conflict effectively.
