Job Description

  • Development teams report to Project Manager and Project Manager reports to Senior Project Manager/ AVP

Education: Graduation in any stream (with diploma/training in software development courses is preferred for non-IT engg. graduates)

Experience ( years):5 to 7 years

Role Summary: 1. Primary responsibility is development in Ruby. 2. Design (low level), Develop, unit test high quality code.

Qualification Criteria/Work Experience Essential:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Subversion or any other version control tool
  • Proactive attitude to problem resolution.
  • Work on agile based projects.
  • Able to perform a detailed Impact analysis.
  • Capable to perform code reviews and provide code to optimise performance of the application.

Technologies Hands-on Experience (Years) -

  • Ruby - 3+ yrs
  • Rails 3+ yrs
  • Modern Design Patters - 2+ yrs
  • DRY SOLID Principles - 2+ yrs
  • Essential TDD Envs (RSPEC, Minitest, Capybara, Selenium) -3+ yrs
  • Experience with relational databases (PostGreSQL, MySQL) and Caching, key-value stores (Preferably Couchbase, Memcache, Redis) - 3+ yrs
  • Good understanding of Continuous integration continuous delivery - 2+ yrs
  • Able to perform Estimation for the project.

Desirable:Technologies Hands-on Experience (Years)

  • Browser Technologies (HTML5, Javascript, CSS3) 1+ yrs
  • Experience with FrontEnd web technology EXTJS Preferred - 3 yrs
  • Experience with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above) - 2 yrs
  • Experience with Java JRuby - 2 yrs
  • Experience with Intersystems Ensemble or Apache Camel- 2 yrs
  • BDD and the ability to write Gherkin or build tests from Gherkin in any language - 2 yrs
  • Understand your way around linux/Unix infrastructure docker experience.-3+yrs
  • Experience in metaprogramming to solve problems in a generic way, promoting a DRY codebase - 2 yrs
  • Experience of working under a formal Quality Management System
  • Experience of working on an Defect / Requirement Management Tool (eg: Jira, Mingle)
  • Able to perform root cause analysis of problems and identify a solution to the problem.
  • Able to suggest improvements to a User Story and communicate these to required stakeholders (Product Owners / Business Analyst)
  • Work flexibly and imaginatively in a changing and evolving project environment.

Task description Key responsibilities include :-

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Business Analysts and Product Owners to resolve requirements gaps and conflicts.
  • Develop high quality software
  • Create and execute comprehensive Unit Tests on developed software
  • Work effectively in a dynamic Agile software development environment
  • Promptly escalate issues which cause personal or team development to fall outside of agreed quality or timescale tolerances and to actively contribute to their resolution.
  • Pro-actively suggest and implement agreed process improvements that enhance the performance, productivity and morale of the team.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes that enhance the performance and quality of personal and team deliverables.
  • Work flexibly and imaginatively in a changing and evolving project environment.
  • Should be a good team player and should be able to mentor and train other team members.
