Business Standard, one of Indias foremost business dailies is looking for a sub- editor/ senior sub- editor for its web division. The job will involve working editing/ rewriting both wire as well as reporter copies for the website. We are looking for someone with a sharp sense of news (general and business) for the web, an interest in business, policy and economics (knowledge of jargon not critical) , and impeccable language skills. We are a small unit, so the ability to play with a team is a must. The most exciting part of being on this team is that you get to throw as many ideas as you can - - whether its for stories, social media traction, infographics, or the website in general. And unlike other editing jobs, you also get to write. You are more than welcome to write the occasional blog for the site that reflects your smart, informed take on various issues. You should ideally have spent some time in a newsroom, no more than 5 year or so, but fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
