Job Description

Amazon s cloud product line Amazon Web Services (#AWS) is searching for a bright and ambitious individual to join our team as a Supply Chain Manager (SCM). The role will be responsible for

  • Ongoing analytics and analysis to insure accurate lead time, safety stock, review cycle, order methods, min/max points, and usage for all part numbers.
  • Create reports and analyze new platform arrivals, identify and address gaps in coverage.
  • Execute stock re balancing through transfers between locations and purchasing where needed.
  • Responsible for managing inventory for highest possible fill rate and highest possible inventory turns.
  • Receive and review requisitions requesting goods and verifies compliance with corporate policy.
  • Expedite orders and requests as needed included non-inventoried items.
  • Monitors performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments.
  • Participate and global Planning and purchasing Projects
  • Work with owners of capital budgets to assist in securing Capital Asset Requests, review and audit of purchases, purchase requisition (PR) / purchase order (PO) generation and management,
  • Vendor sourcing and competitive bidding
  • This position will partner with leadership teams in the development of capital and operational budget planning, including the submittal and management of contract requests from our technical and operational teams. Additionally, this role will work with these teams in the vetting and engagement of both new and existing vendors and will be point of contact for PR submission and PO management. The SCM will have ownership over daily maintenance and follow-up on new and open contract and/or PR tickets to ensure that purchasing and contract requests are tracking to completion. The SCM must have to ability to clearly communicate and explain complex demand/supply forecasts (inputs, outputs, rationale, gaps) and recommendations to senior management. The SCM will need to understand the technical requirements of our partners and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of procurement activities.
,BASIC QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelor s degree, preferably in procurement supply chain from a reputed University.
  • 5 to 7 years in planning / procurement / supply chain with demonstrated knowledge of Inventory Planning management, Vendor performance management.
  • Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and draw conclusions.
  • Maintain key operational metrics that measure supply chain performance driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results.
  • Strong proficiency in analysis tools including Microsoft Excel, SQL, and statistics software
  • Exceptional analytics, judgment, and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Broad supply chain experience, such as demand planning, Procurement and supply Chain management
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies and programs such as Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC and Change Management.
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically with a bias for action
  • Experience in Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive level internally and with suppliers project management and a strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects would be an advantage.
  • High degree of business ethics and accountability
  • Strong business and financial acumen
