This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesOverviewIt handles wide spectrum of activities to support the HK Risk Governance & Enterprise Risk team. This opening involves a reporting role within the below areas.Credit Risk Reporting (CRR) We have taken over Country level reporting, with Hong Kong as the first country. Key tasks are to:

  • Monitoring of Large Exposure, Connected Parties & Equity Exposures
  • Monthly broadcast to Business on the Large Exposure Group
  • HKMA Quarterly Opinion Survey
Country Risk ReportingWe have taken over Country level reporting, with Hong Kong as the first country. Key tasks are to:
  • Review and monitor exposures & limits by country
  • Update sovereign ratings for countries with exposures
  • Prepare Country Risk slide
Strategy
  • Help to ensure appropriate BAU controls being established and deployed effectively in GBS.
  • Help to support new Business requests through Product programmes and Country addendums
  • Help to look for possibilities of leveraging on synergy within the various processes through automation thereby bringing in improvements.
Business
  • Help the team to pursue the strategic intent and agenda for RCRCM
  • Help to improve client experience through more efficient and effective processing in tandem with Risk, Client Coverage and Front Office users
ProcessesCredit Risk Reporting
  • Daily RiskView large exposure monitoring to notify stakeholders if there is any new Large Exposure Group, new Early Alert Group, breach of ITL and statutory limit identified.
  • Daily Checks for Pipeline deals & IPO deals from business and Monthly Reporting to ensure the large exposure is within the ITL and statutory limits.
  • Monthly broadcast to Business on the Large Exposure Group
  • Monthly Tier 1 capital and RWA checking with Finance
  • Monthly email update to CROs on the compliance status on LE, CP, and EE
  • Monthly submission to HKMA on the large exposure position on Initial Public Offering (IPO)
  • Quarterly confirmation with Finance on the Maximum Single Name Exposure
  • Quarterly report with compliance status and exposure position on LE, CP and EE to ERC
  • A quarterly survey submitted to the HKMA on Credit Condition Outlook, covering on both wholesale and retail credit perspective
Country Risk Reporting
  • Preparation of SCBHK Country Risk Month-end Workbook consolidating various sources of data which is used for all subsequent reporting.
  • Provide a clear version of headroom for business to check on the headroom in case of any clearance is needed
  • Monthly positions update email to CROs
  • Risk Appetite Monthly update to ensure the exposure is within SCBHK risk appetite
  • Prepare Country Risk slide(s) for HK ERC
  • Quarterly return to Finance as part of local regulatory reporting
  • Quarterly Limit and Exposure Review on Downgraded Countries
People and Talent
  • Compliance with all relevant process procedure, guidelines, rules & regulations
  • To work and solve problems independently and be able to work in a deadline-oriented environment
Risk Management
  • Embed new Operational Risk framework into monitoring processes and report any escalations to Management.
  • Monthly monitoring of CST and performance measurement of KCIs
Governance
  • Work closely with Operational Excellence & Change management team members to understand key issues and processes and drive automation of processes.
  • Adherence to mandatory certifications and operational requirements
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Other Responsibilities
  • Participate in at least 2 days of volunteering per year

  • To hold assigned roles of First Aider/ Fire Warden / ADCC as appropriate and discharge the expected responsibilities.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Post Graduation in Finance with relevant 3+ yrs experience
  • Risk Certifications from established institutions is recommended
  • FRM Certified candidates will be preferred
  • Any technical Certification in MS Office Advanced tools / SQL / Tableau / SAS/ will be preferred
General Skill Set:
  • Strong knowledge in banking products across asset classes (FX/Rates/ Equity/ Credit and Commodities)
  • Awareness of trading environment, macroeconomic fundamentals, market moves & potential impact on exposures.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to work in a global team
  • Expertise in programming language is not required but good to have
  • Working knowledge in MS Excel, Access
  • Knowledge about Market and Credit Risk
  • Documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of the Group s businesses, governance structure and approach to risk management.
  • Experience in team admin tasks/cost controller/project accountant role with familiarity to SCB project management standards / tools would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience in Agile framework
  • Significant Experience in major regulatory programs in the Risk/Finance, Banking industry BCBS,IMM,CVA etc
