Job Description

Position title -Deputy Chief Manager SustainabilityDepartment -Risk Management & ComplianceExperience - 5 - 8 yearQualification - Graduation ,post graduation and mandatory any course or project on ESG Sustainability (Environmental, social, and governance )1) Job Purpose:The TM Sustainability Role is an operating focussed position at an ABC wide enterprise level. The role is expected to engage with all our Financial services businesses, Aditya Birla Group Sustainability Function and External stakeholders (Investors, Rating agencies, Sustainability focussed firms etc.), in all areas related to adapting and implementing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Responsible Investment frameworks and guidelines into our business operating processes. The role is required to ensure the ongoing publishing and compiling of the ABC Sustainability Report.3) Job Context & Major Challenges:Job Context: The role is an Operational role at the Central Risk Function, having direct oversight over sustainability and ESG practices in ABC businesses. This will involve liaising with different business teams to incorporate sustainability criteria in risk management processes as well as our internal operations.Challenges:

  • To implement and monitoring a sustainability framework and get buy-in from all businesses for on-ground application and ongoing Monitoring.
  • Implement sustainability framework in all businesses and work with business teams to incorporate ESG criteria and responsible investment practices in our risk management processes
  • Inculcate sustainability culture within the Organization in collaboration with Admin
4) Key Result Areas:Key Result Areas Supporting ActionsSustainability Roadmap for all businesses- Work with businesses to develop an overarching sustainability roadmap, including goal and target setting- Liaise with ABG Sustainability Cell and external consultants for various projects.Incorporation of ESG and sustainability criteria in all businesses at the risk level- Work with risk and business teams to incorporate sustainability into business decision making processes- Support the evaluation and continuous monitoring of sustainability related risks and their impacts on potential projects and investee companies- Ensure smooth implementation of the in-house Sustainability/ESG scorecards across businesses- Provide continuous support, training and advisory to businesses on Scorecard processes and systems- Oversee monitoring of Portfolio vis--vis compliance related to sustainability/ESG standards and best practices like Equator Principles, UN PRI guidelines, and IFC performance standardsImprove sustainability culture amongst employees- Manage and oversee internal sustainability initiatives with support from Admin team- e.g. reduce plastic use, energy, and water consumption at offices- Share sustainability-related controversies/news with all Business Units on a weekly basis, supported by a junior team memberEnsure recognition for sustainability practices- Ensure efficient sustainability data collection for Reporting requirements like BRR, GRI, CDP, DJSI surveys- Manage and oversee development of annual sustainability/ESG related reports- Point of contact for all sustainability/ESG related investor queries- Communicate best practices at events/conferences- Represent Aditya Birla Capital at various ESG/Sustainability forums6) Relationships:Relationship TypeFrequencyNatureInternal: Risk teamsWeeklyImplement, Monitor, Train and AdvisoryInternal: AdminAs requiredImplement & MonitorExternal: Vendors/ConsultantsAs required basis nature of projectLiaise and oversightExternal: ABG sustainability cellFortnightly/as requiredCommunicate through webinars, updates to group sustainability initiatives
