Job Description

Job Profile Project ManagerReporting to DirectorExperience 3 5yrsResponsibilitiesEnsure Delivery of existing projects

  1. To define and document the projects development process.
  2. To insure the project is planned and managed according to the projects development process.
  3. To establish/follow a standardized process to monitor project progress and performance on a continuing basis.
  4. To detect project deviations from the plan in a prompt manner and initiate corrective actions as appropriate (for the short-term and the long-term Project Plans).
  1. Develop the Projects Defined Software Process
    1. Develop the model and document the model according to the project standards. (i.e. Project Plan, Requirements Document, etc.)
    2. Provide training to the team on its ramifications.
  2. Ensure the Project is running as per schedule
  3. Work with the team to ensure proper tracking documents are being maintained.
  4. In case a review of the estimation is required, ensure the proper procedures are being followed.
  5. In case this result in additional cost being incurred, evaluate impact on the overall project costing and budget.
  6. Escalate to Senior Management with proper supporting documentation.
  7. Maintaining the project tracking data
  8. Personnel effort in man weeks
  9. Projects cost
  10. Additional resources used
  11. Tools purchased
  12. Requirements Changes
  13. Overall current status of the project (as compared to the Project Plan schedule)
  14. Where there was a defect and how long it took to fix.
  1. Documentation
  2. Ensure all the documentation is inline with the projects documented development process (i.e. Project Plan, Requirements Document, etc.)
  3. Ensure the documents are held under Configuration Management.
  4. Ensure the tracking data is inline with the projects documented development process.
  5. Maintain a project notebook which is a compilation of all completed worksheets for review purposes.
  6. Compiling tracking data from the documents turned in by the team members.
  • Maintaining datasheets with aggregate information on group progress.
  1. Keep track of the following metrics for discussion with Senior Management:
  2. Effort expended over time to manage the software project, compared to the plan.
  3. Frequency, causes, and magnitude of re-planning effort.
  4. For each identified software risk, the realized adverse impact compared to the estimated loss.
  5. The number and magnitude of unanticipated major adverse impacts to the software project, tracked over time.
  6. During Client-side Implementation
    1. Ensure the pre-requisites are communicated to the client on time
    2. Ensure the implementation is conducted smoothly
  7. UAT and Training
    1. Ensure the UAT documentation is created and shared with the client on time
    2. Ensure the appropriate data and expected results is procured on time
    3. Ensure the appropriate training material is shared with the client
    4. Ensure the trainers are allocated and oversee the training conduct to ensure client satisfaction.
