This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesStrategyYou ll be working with a central UX team that spans across Enterprise Technology and is deeply engaged with the Bank-wide Design Community. Our team strategy is to design with data, leveraging research and analytics to inform the design of incredible digital services and experiences. Our team works on internal-facing productivity tools as well as the Bank s developer API platform. We also drive collaboration efforts around design thinking and tooling. We promote knowledge sharing and collaboration in the Bank and openly share our work with other teams through the Design Community.As a member of our team you will be responsible for conducting your own research, analysing data collected and synthesizing it into insights to inform your designs. You will be given opportunities to learn and experiment and as part of our strategy, contribute to the growing knowledge base of research we share with the Bank s Design Community.Business

  • Our team services the entire Enterprise Technology domain. This includes engaging in projects with teams that range from our internal innovation Lab to the API gateway team. You will have to learn how we operate, how the business works, and how UX and UI have an impact. Your KPIs will vary depending on the projects you get involved in. Your primary area of focus will be on designing for innovation projects that involve new technology and business models, such as Machine Learning and Crypto.
ProcessesYou need to be familiar with human centred design methodology, such as mental model diagrams, journey maps, jobs-to-be-done, and comfortable running workshops with a team. You must be able to structure your time and be capable of taking the initiative. Your delivery responsibilities span research, prototyping, testing, wireframes all the way to UI design where you need to engage with engineering teams to help them understand and build your designs. You do not need to be able to code, but it will help if you understand it, and are familiar with Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban. You will be responsible to:
  • Participate in UX activities including UX Research, UX and UI Design, and DesignOps Strategy
  • Design prototypes to test, and conduct testing and validation with them
  • Leverage our visual UI component assets from a standard component library
  • Meet with people in the Bank to understand the business context of the work we do, and understand how they think and work, to better design experiences which support their activities
  • Work closely with engineering teams throughout the design process and support them as they execute your designs
People and Talent As a creative role in the Bank, you will also be responsible to help us:
  • Keep track and advocate for key trends in UX through new ways of working, new design paradigms, evolving consumer behaviours, and modern design tools
  • Organize and participate in activities to help our team grow and advance our knowledge
  • Pursue learning both on the job and outside of work
Risk Management
  • Our team is responsible for delivering quality tool and service design, that is meant to enable colleagues and customers. In doing so, we must be careful with data management and play our part in ensuring we protect it and that our designs take this into consideration. Risk management is interwoven in our design activities and you will need to ensure that risk is always a consideration throughout your design process all the way to delivery.
Governance
  • Our team leads the Design Community of Practice, we inform design governance decisions in the Bank. As part of our responsibility, we must oversee areas such as career progression, mentorship, tooling, support, and more. It will be your responsibility to support and participate in these activities. Primarily, in knowledge sharing from the research that you conduct, and in advocating for design best practices.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years minimum relevant experience and track record of success in researching and designing digital projects, with case studies to share
  • Experience running projects where you have taken research data, used it to build and test a prototype, then designed the wireframes and then the UI, and worked with an engineering team to build and deliver it
  • Degree in a relevant design discipline such as product, graphic or communications design
  • A passion for creating products and services that resonate emotionally with people
  • A proven ability to solve problems and make balanced judgments / decisions are essential to this role
  • UX Research Qualitative and Quantitative

  • Strong understanding of visual elements (Layout, Typography, Fonts )
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and front-end engineering terminology to facilitate communication with engineering teams
  • Design prototypes to test, and conduct testing and validation with them
  • UX Design wireframes, screenflow diagrams
  • UI Design leverage our existing UI components when creating new designs
  • Team player; multi-culturally aware with proven success working in global roles
  • Experience with design standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Axure, Adobe, and others. Must be tool agnostic
