The Global Compliance Department identifies applicable Compliance Obligations and maintains a Firmwide Compliance Risk management program, including Compliance Risks that transcend business lines, legal entities and jurisdictions of operation.Global Financial Crimes is responsible for the development and governance of the Firm s financial crime prevention efforts across all regions and business units. Global Financial Crimes is comprised of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-boycott, Anti-Corruption (ACG) and Government and Political Activities Compliance (GPAC) programs.The Global Regulatory Relations Group (GRRG) is responsible for strategic and centralized management of the supervisory activities of Morgan Stanley s regulators and related developments globally, with a focus on regulatory reviews and examinations and continuous monitoring activities. GRRG serves as the central point of contact for the regulatory staff responsible for supervisory activities at Morgan Stanley entities and for timely reporting to Firm management and other governance or management bodies, as appropriate, on those relationships and supervisory processes, including areas of significant regulatory focus or concern.LCD Center of Excellence Mumbai (LCD CoE) is a part of Morgan Stanley s Global In-house Center, which provides global support to LCD and is an integral part of Firm and LCD strategy.Morgan Stanley clients and their associated parties are screened to meet AML / KYC requirements. Existing client are subject to ongoing screening against negative / adverse & PEP newsPrimary Responsibilities (Day Job)The Officer will:- Supervise a team of NNS professionals whose primary responsibilities include the following:o Reviewing new and existing alerts on Morgan Stanley clients and related parties for potential matches to adverse media and help identify politically exposed personso Performing research to confirm whether the negative news alert is a positive match or false positive to the client, or whether the alert is deemed to be not risk-relevant, and document findings- Escalate any possible true hits to the relevant on-shore GFC team- Assist in managing / leading the team to oversee transition of activities. - Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date documentation of policies and procedures - Identify and develop areas for improvement for example, system enhancement, process controls to improve the throughput, quality of work, supervisory reviews, etc.- Ensure staff receives appropriate training and development, assist in developing training plans and provide coaching where necessary- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement - Relationship building with stakeholders. - Risk & Control. Manage SLA s, quality, capacity, metrics etc., *RequirementsExperience 10 + years of Corporate Intelligence, due diligence; experience in the financial or professional services industries Solid track record working in a professional environment Bachelor s degree from an accredited college / university Experience managing a team of AML professionals Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues across regions and Business Units Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information Ability to use various PC, MS Office and internet applications and tools to support AML processes People managementKnowledge Understanding of AML / KYC Should exhibit comfort working with technology and the ability to learn and display proficiency on technical systems and programs. Proficient with MS Office Skills and Qualities Developed investigative skills: inquiry and analysis, interviewing, testing and organization Impeccable written communication skills: able to describe complex issues accurately and succinctly Strong attention to detail Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with the skills to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment Excellent time management skills and ability to execute tasks within tight deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues of all levels of seniority across regions and business units; able to question and challenge established processes Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license or certification within first 15 months of employment Coverage Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays).
