Are you ready to bring the right energy to Petrofac and help us deliver a better future for everyone JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer - Business Systems KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• S3D Development , Administration, troubleshooting and Hexagon based systems programming, end user trainings, technical support, intra discipline interface for requirements gathering, project delivery support.
• Responsible for setting up of S3D system for projects in line with company and project procedures within the stipulated time while starting up the project, managing the S3D system of various projects and continuous technical support.
• Responsible for coordination as S3D admin of Client and Subcontractors of the project.
• Administration of the S3D Model, customization to suit the project requirements and support to multi-discipline end users of the model.
• Responsible for development and implementation of project specific Catalogues and Specifications for piping & pipe supports, structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines in S3D and setting up of project specific drawing templates in the drafting module of S3D.
• Make sure that the integrity of the 3D model database is well maintained and regular transfer of information from 3D model to other IT systems is functioning properly as expected.
• Based on the client specifications, develop project specific modelling procedure and set up the 3D model accordingly. Conduct regular trainings to multi-discipline end users of the 3D model.
• Work closely with the discipline leads of the projects to understand their requirements and address their demand on time. Develop programs to automate tasks, to improve the efficiency and avoid human errors.
• In case of any technical challenges, troubleshoot to resolve the issues on time.
• Responsible for Clash/TDL management and Clash/TDL Reports. Clean up and Preparation of the 3D model for all Model reviews.
• Be familiar with the work flows of all the IT systems implemented in the project. Be proactive and provide your input to IT plan on time and highlight in advance if there are any technical challenges.
• Coordinate actively with other offices, for the projects executed from multiple locations, attend meetings and communicate effectively. Be flexible and ready to assume additional roles like CAD coordinator in a project.
• Strong background in Hexagon s S3D software, thorough working knowledge in all the modules of S3D and experience in development and implementation of Cats and Specs of piping, pipe supports, structural and EIT.
• Coordination with SPF Admin for attribute mapping, doc. publish issues etc.
• Resolving S3D drawing publish & issues etc.
• User support and Job Note preparation for publishing data
• Run System health check repots & liaise with discipline for its resolution as per QMS
• Day to day User Support & System troubleshooting
• Responsible for liaising with Engineering SME s to identify project specific requirements & defining the Requirement Definition Specification.
• Translate the project specific requirement specifications into S3D automation using the best practices defined by Hexagon and Petrofac QMS (Quality Management System).
• Interacting with discipline and manage customization priorities.
• Train end users & rolling out the developments as standard methodology across projects and preparing relevant QMS procedures.
• Manage the process of change with respect to Hexagon automation routines & carry out impact analysis prior to implementing the change and supporting end users for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process.
• Provide clear plans and goal setting in managing the assigned activities.
• Solve problems and troubleshooting on critical issues on S3D projects.
• Interface with Clients & JV partners to manage project delivery
• Interacting with other team members and engineering SMEs regarding HEXAGON S3D administration and automation issues and requirements in terms of new or existing automation & system support.
• Analyse the cases according to the QMS guidelines, resolve conflicts/issues and guide the design team.

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree from an accredited College or University and having 10+ years of experience in S3D development /administration.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in VB, VB.NET, SQL, C# programming.
• Python work experience will be an added advantage .
• Understanding of business processes from FEED to EPC and having worked in the oil and gas industry.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have business process know how in addition to the expertise with 3D tools.
• Knowledge of engineering activities in relation to 3D systems.
• Excellent knowledge of S3D Administration, customisation of catalogues, drawings, libraries and standards.
• Knowledge of S3D metadata structure.
• Comprehensive programming expertise using VB, VB.NET, SQL, C# programming.
• Must be able to work individually and develop custom symbols, custom commands, custom labels & reports for S3D.
• Knowledge of Hexagon tools, Navisworks, Tekla and its meta data.
• Knowledge of CAD application such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Smartsketch.
• Prioritization of business demand & Scheduling
• Strong problem-solving capability with proactive and logical approach.
• Shall possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
