Job Description

    Roles and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities includes System Administration, operations and support and maintenance ofWindows systems and serversInstall new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings,directories, storage, etc. in accordance with clients standards and operational requirements.Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.Contribute to and maintain system standards.Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources,systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion ofscheduled jobs such as backups.Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.Limited user account management and troubleshooting issues related to account managementdelegated rights. .Provide Tier II/III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate andtroubleshoot issues.Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate withimpacted constituencies.Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.Configure / add new services as necessary.Upgrade and configure system software.Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.Perform ongoing performance tuning, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU,memory, and disk partitions as required.Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.Manage Windows File Shares in a DFS environment utilizing DFSR replication with multipleregional file servers.Experience with Terminal Services platforms, and familiarity with roaming profiles and folderredirection as implemented in support of the same.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Bachelor degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.MCSA or MCSE certification in current Microsoft operating system/s.4-5 years system administration experience.Deep understanding of Windows Operating SystemExperience supporting production applications and knowledge of change management principlesDemonstrated working knowledge of web servers, clients and browsers, LDAP, Active DirectoryAbility to work in a team-oriented environment where collaboration is required, including workingwith remote colleaguesAbility to self-direct, prioritizing tasks efficiently, based on criticalityDesire and motivation to learn and deploy new technologiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills and complex problem solving skillsKnowledge of Enterprise Linux is added advantage
