Job Description

IT Test Engineer (Automation)Test Engineer II is responsible for developing, maintaining and executing test scripts for in-scope applications under Automation, Performance and API testing. Analysis of existing testing tools / frameworks / processes and identifying improvement opportunities within the same. This role involves many cross-functional communication and co-ordination. This position is under the direct supervision of a IT Test Engineering Team Lead and will be mentored on a regular basis.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzing user stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility for Automation, Performance and API Testing
• Collaborate closely with Functional team members and departments
• Automate all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
• Design and develop automation scripts with various test automation tools like Selenium and Robot Framework
• Design and Execute batches of automation test scripts and suites
• Design and develop Performance scripts with various Performance Testing tools like JMeter
• Design and develop API Testing scripts with various API Testing tools like PostMan
• Execute Benchmark, load, stress, endurance, and other non-functional tests. Monitor application logs to determine system behavior. Address all technical issues; facilitate the resolution and follow up with Development and other cross-functional departments.
• Generate performance graphs, session reports and other related documentation required for validation and analysis.
• Publish results and receive appropriate signoff. Prepare detail status reports, and monitoring of all defects and issues
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
• Provide timely solutions
• Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
• Design and maintain Test Plan and automation testing documentations
• Planning and co-ordination of testing activities
• Build automation libraries supporting the test automation tool / framework with the objective to improve the testing process
• Collaborate with cross functional groups including Software Development, Operations Engineering, Software Launch and Software users to create and execute test matrices (test scenarios and test cases) based on software requirements and tool functionality

EnviRonmentWork must be carried out adhering to the organizational best practices.Degree of supervision provided to the candidate will be minimal for tasks related to testing of software applications. Candidate will be working in a team and will be required to use his/her knowledge for building testing solutions for in-scope applications. Requires supervision and coaching from SLM or peers.ScopeCompletely responsible for testing of a group of tools as individual contributor.Impact DECISION MAKING Gathers relevant information to support problem solving and decision-making.Decisions taken will affect the deliverables for GCO Testing team. i.e. test execution cycle outcome, test metrices, overall product quality which is being tested by the team. • Bachelor s degree (3/4 years - professional college: Technical / Engineering streams) with major/minor in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science/ Engineering or related science/technology field
• 4+ Years of experience with mapping technologies, GIS software and concepts
• 3+ Years of experience in various test and defect management tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, Zypher etc.
• 2+ Years of experience in various test automation frameworks like Robot, Selenium, QTP, AutoIT etc. is good to have
• Hands on experience on Java with Eclipse and Maven is required
• Full understanding of End to End performance test process using JMeter
• Knowledge in interpreting XML Schema definitions in case of SOAP APIs, swagger definition or any high-level design and metadata information pertaining to REST APIs
• Experience in any programming or scripting language viz. Java, Python, Perl, Shell Scripting is required
• Exposure to Agile software development and DevOps is a must
• Hands on experience on automation of Web based and windows desktop-based applications
• Proficient knowledge of database query and working knowledge of Rest API
• Proficient Knowledge of testing related metrics and standard practices
• Desired testing certifications viz. ISTQB, CSTE, CP-BAT, CP-MAT, CP-SAT etc.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Automation Certified Professional as added advantage
