Job Description

We provide a complete spectrum of engineering services, procurement and construction management to process and infrastructure industry. Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical requirements and review/design new data schemas or update existing data schemas
  • Design and program database solutions that are responsive, scalable and capable of managing large volume transactions.
  • Refactor database design and/or code to accommodate changing requirements
  • Normalize / Deformalize data schemas to aid performance gain requirements.
  • Produce optimum SQL procedures utilizing transaction management, error handling and taking into account necessary locking mechanisms.
  • Report, research, correct, and test defects in stored procedures, reports and other database related functions
  • Report, research, correct, performance issues in stored procedures, reports and other database related functions
  • Troubleshoot and tune complex SQL statements.
  • Tracing deadlocks, root cause analysis and providing redesigns
  • Make recommendations on indexing strategies and schema changes
Qualifications
  • BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent job experience
  • 7 years plus Microsoft SQL Server programming experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with current versions of Microsoft SQL server
  • Exceptional T-SQL knowledge spanning all areas.
  • Experience of performance tuning and debugging of databases and database objects
  • Experience creating, debugging and tuning complex SQL queries
  • Experience of deadlock scenarios and resolution
  • Experience in schema design, normalization and optimization
  • Strong knowledge of database locking mechanisms, transaction management including those that may span across multiple servers.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) applications
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • knowledge/ experience of SQL Server source control tools such as Team Foundation Server or Redgate.
  • Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments
  • Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
  • Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Technical documentation skills
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
